Re: Unit Strategy Review: How to use Grimnak
Great read, a very good strategic introduction to Grimnak.
Just wanted to contribute something to the already great write-up. 1. Nit picking first... sorry. Under the Easy Picking Squads, a typo error. Should be "arrow volley" for the Roman Archers. 2. Would 'Firestorm' qualify for the '6 or more attacks' list? Kurrok the Elementalist and at least 3 Fire Elementals provides 3 FE attacks plus Searing Intensity would make a minimum of 6 attacks. And the SI attacks can really increase if there are more FEs. |

Re: Unit Strategy Review: How to use Grimnak
You also might want to add in Wyrmlings and Elementals as trouble units because they are hard to chomp and yet not very expensive.

Re: Unit Strategy Review: How to use Grimnak
I fixed Arrow Volley, added Firestorm and Ornak plus two Fen Hydras / Frost Giants to the 6 attack list, and I added in a section under chomp on all the new D&D Heroes.

Re: Unit Strategy Review: How to use Grimnak
Possibly my unluckiest guy in heroscape. And my friend's.
I've never seen him eat a hero yet, and twice I've 1HK0d him with arrow volley. Maybe the dice gods are saying something to me. |

Re: Unit Strategy Review: How to use Grimnak
I'd put him with Tornak and a swarm of Blade Gruts (kind of obvious, I know). I just tried that and he works fine. I use him as a a huge cannon and Tornak as cavalry. Grimnak backs up the assault and mops up while Tornak is the spearhead. You need two or more squads of Blade Gruts and some Arrow Gruts with a Swog Rider.
Of course, Megapower 999, you just might not have good luck. So, good luck to you, and I mean that wholeheartedly. Einar is the best general... End of argument... |
