The tracking part WAS the game. Where is the value in a pokemon game designed to get you outside and hunting pokemon when you can't even hunt them? That was the only value in the game. Leveling up? For what? For taking gyms that will be lost in 10 minutes? The only real, worthwhile function of Pokemon Go was the tracking. Now that it is gone, Niantic will be remembered as the company which completely blew their golden opportunity.
