Any preference on the shield marker bonus before I run checklists and proposals?

Still weird to me that you have two powers with "Aura" titles and only one of them uses the "Aura markers."

We could rename his SA if it makes you feel better. I think that'd be weird too, since that's what he calls his powers. But if we didn't like tacking on a marker bonus for the SA, not sure what another option would be.

What exactly do the markers represent? I'm not personally against some bonus for the special attack that use the markers, even if it's something like making the multiple attacks contingent on having at least one marker or something like that.

Wanted them to be the strength of the shields he's putting up. Riffing off of Gl's and their markers.

I don't know the character, but I do like the strategic dilemma of using the markers for either offense or defense. A single or double SA, where burning a marker gets you up to 3 uses of it would work. He only has so much power to use before needing a rest, do you use it to defend himself and others, use if to aggressively try and destroy the enemy before they can attack, or a little bit of both?

I’m fine if you just make it to where the special attack can only be used 3 times if he has at least one marker on his card. Ties it to the Aura theme and then you don’t need to rename it.

Wasn't really envisioning him as a character you have to balance resources for. Just a few single use shields, with his offense being represented by his other two powers and his stats.

I guess what I want to try to understand is whether they are two completely different powers that just have similar names or if those similar names suggest a connection between the powers, such as with GLs where they are using a shared power source for most of their abilities.

Gotta be clear with me, Bats. I'm dense.

He has an "aura" which he can shape and do whatever he wants with. No origin story or clear power source, since that's not the point of the story. Feels and looks similar to a GL making constructs. He shoots people with it or makes blades and other weapons. Or shields himself to protect from gunfire. So I was representing him exerting himself making a shield. I don't think him shooting a dart at someone exerts himself to need markers. I like just having a breakable shield.

OK, so to be clear, it's uncommonly hard for him to make shields out of his aura and he's limited in his ability to do so, but no matter how much effort he's exerting to make shields, it has no effect on his ability to use that same aura to shoot darts and so forth?

Is that an accurate assessment of his power set?

It's not uncommonly hard to make shields, but against a volley of bullets he can't stand forever. Offensive weapons don't have to worry about that.

What is your suggestion?
