SJCOE Game Day: A Day for Heroes II
This thread contains all information about the upcoming San joaquin County Office of Education Heroscape Game Day: A Day for Heroes II.
Event Date: May 7th, 2008 Location: SJCOE Main Office (SJCOE Students only) Participating School Sites: one.Eclipse vs. one.Lodi Maps & Scenarios/Objectives -All games will be a 2 players vs. 2 Players Team-play. -Each game will be a duration of 1 hr. -Points will be awarded based on differentials. Example Team 1 scored 10 points, and Team 2 scored 6 points. Team 1 receives 4 points (their 10 - their opponents 6). Team 2 receives -4 points. -When an objective has been completed or scored, an opponent may not steal objective points. -Figures may not pass flags, stones, or artifacts to other figures, but stones and artifacts may dropped on an empty space at the end of a figure's turn. -Maps will be posted soon. Map #1:The Banners of Valhala Objectives: #1 Capture the Flag. Each team will receive 6 points per opponent's army flag captured and returned to their scoring zone. 3 points will be scored if a player possesses an opponents flag by the end of the last round when time is called. #2 Destroy an opponents army. Each team will receive 4 points per opponent's army that has been completely destroyed during the battle. -To take an opponent's flag, you must move your figure onto the space adjacent to the flag marked with a face-down glyph. At the end of your turn you may take the flag. -If a figure carrying a flag is killed, the flag is automatically returned to its starting space. Map #2:The Code-Stones This map will feature Lava and Swamp as it main terrain types. Objectives: Collect 1 Code-Stone of each of the 4 color--Blue, Red, Yellow, & Green. A team will score 5 points for each color returned to one of their scoring zones. A team will NOT receives points for duplicate colors returned to their scoring zones. 3 points will be scored if a player possesses a non-duplicated colored stone by the end of the last round when time is called. A PLAYER MAY NOT POSSESS MORE THAN ONE OF EACH COLORED STONE AT A TIME (stones that have been scored are considered to still be in possession eventhough they can not be stolen). FINDING A COLORED CODE-STONE:To pick up an Code-Stone, after moving and attacking, a player may roll the 20-sided die for an activated figure--if you roll a 13 or higher you place the Code-Stone on the base of the figure. You must roll for each time you pick up a Code-Stone, even if it was dropped by another figure that has been destroyed. Map #3:Mining Wellstones Objectives: Collect as many of the 10 Wellstones and return them to one of your teams scoring zones. Your team will receive 5 points for each Wellstone returned to one your team's scoring zones. 3 points will be scored if a player possesses a Wellstone by the end of the last round when time is called. DIGGING UP WELLSTONES:To pick up an adjacent Wellstone, after moving and attacking, a player may roll the 20-sided die for an activated figure--if you roll a 11 or higher you place the Wellstone on the base of the figure. You must roll for each time you pick up a Wellstone, even if it was dropped by another figure that has been destroyed. Map #4:The Artifacts of the Archkyrie Objectives: Collect and return as many of the Artifacts as possible. ONLY UNIQUE FIGURES MAY CARRY AN ARTIFACT. When an artifact is carried by a figure, the figure's army card benefits from any enhancement the artifact provides--with the exeption of the Glyph of Lodin which will enhance the controlling player's entire army. All artifacts returned to a team's scoring zone is secured for 6 points, but the artifact NO LONGER enhances the army card. Artifacts in possession at the end of the last round when time is called, will be worth 4 points. UNCOVERING ARTIFACTS: All glyphs will be shuffled and placed face down in 10 designated spaces/areas. 4 glyphs of Brandar(decoy glyphs), 1 +1 Attack glyph, 1 +2 Defense glyph, 1 +2 Movement glyph, 1 Glyph of Lodin, a 2 Massive Curse glyphs. To uncover a glyph, after moving and attacking, a player may roll the 20-sided die for an activated UNIQUE figure--if you roll a 9 or higher turn over the uncovered glyph. TEAM COMPOSITIONS: Each team may only be match for one game. For example, one.Eclipse players A & B are a team for their first game. For the remainder of the day, one.Eclipse players A & B may no longer play the same map at the same time. PREDRAFTED ARMIES -510 point armies. -Each army may not have more than 30 figures. -Drafting for armies will begin on 4/24/08. -The second round of drafting will take place on 4/25 (drafting schedule may change based on effeciency). -No two players will have the same army card. -When a player drafts a common army card, he/she may choose to draft multiples of that card for that single round of drafting, but they must deduct the cumulative of the army cards from the drafting points. Example, Steve decides to draft the Venoc Vipers, and he wants 4 squads of them. Steve is now the only player that may use the Venoc Vipers, and he has also spent 160 points (40 x 4 squads) of his drafting points. That specific card may be duplicated in future drafting rounds, but only be the original drafting player. PRESCHEDULE GAMES Team Match-ups and designated maps will be determined prior to the gameday. PRIZES: -The Player of the Day chooses ONE of the following prizes: RISE OF THE VALKYRIE MASTER SET, SWARM OF THE MARRO MASTER SET, a Wave 7 "Heroes of Elswin" booster pack, or a Wave 7 "Fiends & Vampires" booster pack. -The School of the Day may choose ONE prize from the remaining 3 prizes. (Teachers may choose to award the prize to an individual student, based on a raffle/academic incentive/or such). -Random Particpants: -The 2 remaining prizes will be given away by a random drawing (which will exclude the Player of the Day). DETERMING THE PLAYER OF THE DAY The player who received the largest number of Team Points from games they participated in will be considered the Player of the Day. Example, Darrell's Team scored 10 points in the first game against their opponents 6 points. The differential equals the Team Points Darrell's Team scored ( 10 - 6 = 4 Team Points, the opponents received -4 points). So at the end of the day, Darrell earned 4 from his first game, 5 from his second game, and -2 from his last game--for a grand total of 7 Team Points for all the games Darrell was part of. If Darrell had the highest Team Points, of all players, then he is the Player of the Day. DETERMING THE SCHOOL OF THE DAY The highest cumulative of all Team Points from all games, using differentials. Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege. Don't worry Satyr, we'll have another Epic campaign soon. We might even give thses scenarios a run, but with an Epic-Army twist.
