The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson) C3G DC WAVE 15 REMEMBER THE TITANS Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Icons set. Its model number and name are #002 / Robin. The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Batman: Alpha set. Its model number and name are #028 / The Boy Wonder. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - "In his first appearance, Dick is a circus acrobat, and with his parents make up the "Flying Graysons". While preparing for a performance, Dick overhears two gangsters attempting to extort protection money from the circus owner. The owner refuses, so the gangsters sabotage the trapeze wires with acid. During the next performance, the trapeze from which Dick's parents are swinging snaps, sending them to their deaths. Before he can go to the police, Batman appears to him and warns him that the two gangsters work for Tony Zucco, a very powerful crime boss, and that revealing his knowledge could lead to his death. When Batman recounts the murder of his own parents, Dick asks to become his aide. After extensive training, Dick becomes Robin. (...) Robin's origin has a thematic connection to Batman's in that both see their parents killed by criminals, creating an urge to battle the criminal element. Bruce sees a chance to direct the anger and rage that Dick feels in a way that he himself cannot, thus creating a father/son bond and understanding between the two. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, DC Comics portrayed Batman and Robin as a team, deeming them the "Dynamic Duo", rarely publishing a Batman story without his sidekick" (www.wikipedia.org). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
NAME = ROBIN
SECRET IDENTITY = DICK GRAYSON SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = SIDEKICK PERSONALITY = DARING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4 LIFE = 3 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 3 POINTS = 100 VIGILANTE SIDEKICK After revealing an Order Marker on the Army Card of a Vigilante you control and taking a turn with that Vigilante, if Robin is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Vigilante, you may take an immediate turn with Robin, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control. If Robin is adjacent to that Vigilante when attacking an adjacent figure this turn, add 1 die to his attack. DARING DECOY Figures engaged with Robin can only attack figures that have the Daring Decoy special power. ACROBATIC MANEUVER When Robin rolls defense dice against an opponent's attack, one shield will block all damage. For each shield rolled, you may immediately move Robin one space up to 6 levels up or down. When Robin moves using Acrobatic Maneuver, he will not take any falling damage or leaving engagement attacks. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
We're at the point where we are starting to reuse more powers (certainly not a bad thing) and I think this design looks fairly solid.
I do see an issue with Daring Decoy though. What if two players have characters with the power engaged with one figure. That figure would not be able to attack either right due to the "you control" part and the powers being in different players hands. Right? |

Re: The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
Technically, the power was earmarked for Dick before we ever did Wasp. We just decided it was a really good fit on her as well.
And I'd disagree with your interpretation. The power is only limiting you from attacking players I control other than ones with Daring Decoy. It does nothing to stop you from attacking other player's figures. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
Well, Wasp isn't out yet. There's still time to tinker. Would this wording help clarify?
DARING DECOY Figures engaged with Robin can only attack figures you control if those figures have the Daring Decoy special power. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I agree actually. I never read it that way, but that was because I helped Bats to design that power and I only read what I intended. We could just FAQ it though, because I don't know a better way. Do you? |

what about this: DARING DECOY Figures engaged with Robin can only attack figures that have the Daring Decoy special power. |

Re: The Book of Robin (Dick Grayson)
See my suggested wording above. Not too late at all to update Wasp with it either.
Edit: It really doesn't have the same issue, but neither does yours and yours is simpler, so I'll go with it. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

That's just about exactly what I was about to type up. No reason to mention control at all.
