if you're looking for inspiration, though some form of chain lightning would be cool too. Something simple would be to imitate Quahon's Special Attack but to make the second and third target *both* branch from the first target, instead of the chain that Quahon uses.

The tank is cool, but looks like absolute hell to position on the board - it does seem tough to base it any other way though sadly (one of the reasons I think a helicopter for the Airborne could work better is that you can put it on a flight stand like the Zettian Deathwings or Clawfoot Interceptors - or the blimp from AoA - and not run into so many positioning issues).

For a rainbow dragon the first thing that comes to my mind is something like Ranjit but with a breath ability - I don't know exactly what that looks like or how it'd be themed, but "breath of unity" that scales its dice or damage or whatever based on either different general figures you control near it or your OM on cards of different generals could be fun and different from other dragons. Or perhaps like a Mimring-esque fire line, except if it hits friendly units it can heal them instead of wounding them?

I appreciate the ideas. As of late, they have just been sitting on a shelf waiting for inspiration. I made a map and gave the tank a movement of 7 to just move it around. Obviously, as long as the map accommodates it, it fits. We mitigated a lot of "climbing" by giving it a rule that it can never go higher than 1 elevation from its starting position per activation. It is more meant to be a slow, big lumbering beast than a mobile fighter. Heck, some maps may see it stuck in a starting zone.
We are treating it as a hero as well, no need to do mounting and dismounting rules.

Maybe an explosion special attack for the big gun and a machine gun special attack for the turret, both can be used on the same turn?

Or represent one of them via a normal attack (the machine gun?) and say that the special attack can be used at the same time as the normal one.
