Hey guys. I know it's crazy early but I was thinking about NHSD and was wanting to get some ideas thrown out there. I assume were looking to do it late September. Does anyone have any weekends that they know they can't make in September.

I'm hoping to have some prizes for everyone. I'm not 100 percent sure yet but I might have a new in box Gladitrons and Aubrien Archers set to give away. I'm thinking I'll open it and have each squad be their own prize. Can anyone else offer a little prize support? I'll see if I can get some 3D printed goodies made too.

As far as format, I'm thinking a draft type thing. Is there a format out there that involves bringing a partially made army and you draft the other half from a pool of like 500? I was thinking about something like that. Thoughts?

A partial draft format could be fun. Reverse draft would be faster. I like Reverse Draft a lot.

NHSD is October.

I can bring some non-Heroscape prizes.

LOCATION: Total Escape Games in Broomfield, CO
FORMAT: Reverse Draft, 535 point max, 18 figures max, 24 hex max
MAPS: We don't plan any particular maps ahead of time, but this spreadsheet lists some maps we have used in the past (and are likely to use again)
PRICE: Free
NEW PLAYERS WELCOME! Figures will be provided for players that do not have their own collection.

PRIZES: If you bring a prize for the prize table, you will get to take a prize from the prize table at the end of the event. Players will pick prizes from the table in order of their win record in the event.

C3V and SoV figures are allowed.

To play in this event, bring an army of at most 535 points. A maximum of 18 figures that take up no more than 24 hexes can be placed at the start of the game.

The format for each game is kill 'em all, however, before each game there will be a reverse draft:

• Begin with a dice-off. The winner of the dice-off chooses one of the armies (theirs, or their opponent's) and says they want to play with that army.
• The loser of the dice-off either agrees to let the dice-off winner play with that army, or removes at least one figure from that army and says they want to play with it.
• The players go back and forth, removing additional figure(s) from the chosen army each time, until one player passes and lets the other player use it.
• The player who passes plays the army that was not chosen in the first step (at full strength).

April 21 might work for me... but I imagine that is cutting it close for everyone else.

This is what I am thinking for format, as I know some people want to bring their own armies and have some idea what they're playing:

Side Table Draft
Each player will bring 800 points of figures. Between 250 and 350 points worth of figures will be the "Core" of their army and will be used in every game. Before each game, the players will take turns adding cards from their remaining figures to their army until they cannot draft anymore figures without going over 525 points or 24 figures.
Note that you will not use any of your opponent's figures, and they will not use any of yours.

Pooled Draft
Each player will bring 800 points of figures. Between 250 and 350 points worth of figures will be the "Core" of their army and will be used in every game. Before each game, the players will pool their remaining figures into a single draft pool and take turns picking one army card worth of figures from the pool until they cannot draft another card without going over 525 points or 24 figures.
Note that your opponent will never use the figures from the "Core" of your army, but they may draft the other figures that you bring into their army, and vice versa.
