Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Mass Effect 3 has several great scenes. Obviously, spoilers.
Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler Alert!
The game is just filled with emotional and fantastic moments - easily the most emotional video game I've ever played. Someone new to the series can't appreciate it as much, but anyone who's played through all of them will be hit hard by the last game. Now through May 28th, the Louisville region is in desperate need of platelets - call the Red Cross if you are interested in donating! |

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Each of the Noble Team members dying in Halo: Reach and when Soap dies in MW3. Halo was worse because I liked the characters more, although when Emile kicked alien butt after he was stabbed made feel like a kickbutt spuperhero.

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Lost Odyssey has some sad moments in it with the memory stories of Kaim. They are worth reading through and they do a good job of providing insight into his character more as an immortal.

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Almost all of Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and CoM.
I enjoyed the psp one, but not as dramatic. All the ds ones have sucked. |

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Nuthin' but a bunch of young whipper-snappers! In my day, we had to walk to school, uphill in the snow, both ways!
And we played text-only "video" games! And we loved it!! The saddest moment was definitely Floyd's death in Planetfall: Floyd staggers to the ground, dropping the mini card. He is badly torn apart, with loose wires and broken circuits everywhere. Oil flows from his lubrication system. He obviously has only moments to live. You drop to your knees and cradle Floyd's head in your lap. Floyd looks up at his friend with half-open eyes. "Floyd did it...got card. Floyd a good friend, huh?" |

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Radiant Historia was a rather moving game, although not necessarily sad. There definitely were sad parts, but the whole game was a very emotional experience. The saddest part I can think of off the top of my head would probably be when Rosch is reminiscing about his Gauntlet and why he has it. It was a very touching moment, even though I couldn't relate directly to his predicament. Just goes to show how excellent storytelling can really move someone, eh?

Re: Saddest Video Game Moment Ever?
Deroche just envoked a whole wave of memories with me.
Saddest thing? Having the MuD that you and all your friends got together and played back in the day get shut down. |
