I like them both, but the colour scheme of the Shaman is making my eyes hurt...

We will just have to agree to disagree then. I try to mimic a color or colors within the supes costume and I also though that particular green looked "magical". If anything, I could dull the yellow just a tad, but I am OK with the colors as they are.
