GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: This Story Card was deisgned to help out the Mercenary and Assassin class by allowing them to get into more builds. It hits on theme, giving Assassins and Mercs that “gun for hire” feel. All my tests were in Criminal builds as there aren't any Terrorist builds that make any sense in 2.0 yet. 10 points seems right on. Allowing more than one of these Story Cards in a build also works fine, it gives more options in Criminal or Terrorist armies but at a cost, want to bring 3? Sure but it's at a cost of 30 points, most people aren't willing to give up that much. All and all this card accomplishes what it set out to do, make Assassins and Mercenaries have a thematic way to be put into armies. I should go to public playtesting without issue. |

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - initial playtesting
No issues allowing more than 1 card into a army. The question is:
Would we call this a common story card? Or just word it that you can more than 1 copy of this story card in your army? |

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
I think the 'Not what I signed up for' will keep it from being abused. The more you use it the more likely one is the last figure left standing and just bails on you.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
The common/uncommon thing is a bit twisted in my brain when it comes to cards like this. Like I think you'd want to have two separate cards that trigger separately, which to me means uncommon? It gets weird with figureless design, since common (for our purposes) basically means multiple figures sharing one card.
yea for testing C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
We have common & unique spells and are looking to expand that system so other things can use the same format, so I don't see why we don't also have common & unique story cards.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
Fwiw, I'm not sure common spells 100% make sense either, by the same criteria. They're not sharing a card.
But I'm also ultimately OK if one-shots and story cards use uniqueness slightly differently than character cards and DOs do. Figureless cards and figure cards are just functionally different in some ways. And obviously no one brought up issues with common spells in 1.0. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
I think the idea that common things can be drafted multiple times, where as unique things are one per army, works fine.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
Sure. Problem is uncommon things can also be drafted multiple times, so sorting between them and commons are where it gets messy.

I don't have an issue calling this an Uncommon Story Card if we want to stay uniform.

Re: For the Right Price(Story Card) - Initial Complete
I propose a vote for Public Playtesting
Whatever we decide to label it won't effect playtesting. Just needs 2 votes. |
