Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or NoNo. Although Clayface seems to have been just about designed to give Heavy Hitters a hard time, taking out almost the entire enemy side while taking only 2 Wounds is not a good thing.
- What should be the unit's point value? ???
- Give a brief overview.The Avengers move in, destroying all Thugs that get in their way, then Clayface comes in and destroys almost all of them except Quicksilver who is destroyed by the Thugs later.

- Captain America has Bucky move up, with an extra two spaces using Super Soldier Scout, followed by Cap himself.
- Kingpin has a squad of Street Thugs move up.
- Quicksilver moves up.
- Kingpin has another squad of Street Thugs move up, and two attack Quicksilver but they miss.
- Vision moves up.
- Kingpin has another squad of Street Thugs move up, and three attack Quicksilver but they all miss.

Round Two
- Kingpin has Black Mask move up.

- Does it pass, Yes or No? Hmm... I honestly think this guy needs some more work, actually. Not much, he's almost there, but right now he's a bit too swingy which doesn't make him as fun to play with or against. So, no.

- Give a brief overview. Superman flies in and destroys everything. Everything. Well, he takes a few wounds from Clayface, and one from Two-Face, but other than that this was a massacre.

Hush’s Obsessive Vendetta is on Superman
- Superman flies up.
- Hush has Two-Face move up and use Heads You Live, Heads You Die to give Superman a wound.
- Superman attacks Two-Face and rolls... really?! 6 skulls, then Two-Face rolls 1 Shield... wow.
- Clayface moves up and attacks Superman. And somehow Superman rolls all skulls, and so takes 3 Wounds.
- Superman attacks Clayface, but misses.
- Clayface attacks Superman, giving him 1 Wound.

Round Two
- Superman moves onto height, and destroys Clayface.
- Clayface’s Turn.
- Superman moves up and destroys Hush.
Who won and how many wounds did they have?
Superman: 5/7 Wounds
Batman: 0/4 Wounds

Final thoughts: Clayface is definitely a high risk high reward character IMO. To get full use of him you have to stack the Order Markers on him, and if you do and it pays off he destroys everything. But if it fails and he’s destroyed in the first or second turn, it can devastate your army. Honestly, I’m not sure on point costs, I’m just not good at it, and with a character like this one I can’t even begin to guess. As far as the Fun/Fun Competitive categories, I generally prefer figures that have a fairly solid design that can go up or down depending on the dice rolls. Clayface though, has far more risk/reward than I care for. It's not a bad design by any means, I'm just not sure he's for people like me. Of course, feel free to ignore this since I am someone who prefers figures and cards that are fairly steady in their performance.

Honestly, Flame Gryphon just rolled with so many swingy dice results and didn't replay anything that those tests aren't really that useful ... crazy dice rolls happen with any design. Any figure with a high attack could one shot Luke Cage on a poor defensive roll. And a test where Superman goes ape isn't really helpful. I'm sure it's magnified with Clayface is smothering you, but unless we get another test sheet like this (and if we do some design tweaking is needed) I don't think there's much to take from this one, unfortunately.

Yeah, but we've got two more testers signed up, so hopefully their tests will be what we need.
I'd ask FG to rerun some tests, but if he just plain doesn't like the unit, there doesn't seem to be any point. I like him, though, so I'm not ready to do any major surgery unless another tester indicates an issue.

Well the Avengers didn't have any range really and worried about the Thugs so much that Clayface had free reign. There must have been some pretty good rolls for CF and bad rolls for Cap to get taken out so easy. First attack by Vision should have been normal attack instead of Disruption. One punching LC is kind of crap too. That happened in another test I've read recently.

Some dice wackiness in the second test with Supes rolling all skulls on defense and one punching both TF and CF.


These kind of results are kind of useless. FG says that Clayface was too swingy, what about his dice rolls being totally swingy.

For sure. With the way the Street Thugs and Superman performed in those tests, they could be called too swingy as well.

Well that's how I felt in Johnny's Piledriver test where he one punched Luke Cage and killed Wolverine and whatnot. I mean sometimes that happens, but realistically they aren't going to happen as a norm and scare people. That's why I think it's important that such events during a test are noted so that the reader can know that something unusual happened and not make a hasty ill-informed judgement.

That was actually my test but yeah. That's why it's a good thing we have no less than 6 army tests and 10 HH for any given unit. Swing happens!
