Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Design Phase)
I imagine there's a way to alter the trigger on the staking power to make sure it happens before/instead of the other one. Maybe it only triggers when a wound is inflicted now that he can swoop in and take a turn when one isn't?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

That was sort of intentional to make you choose

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Design Phase)
Not entirely sure what's being said when we're saying the 2 powers trigger at the same time. Sure, in real-life gameplay, you may have both powers activating within seconds of each other, but within the rules system of Heroscape, there's a pretty clear and defined order those powers are happening in. I don't think it's great that two powers with similar effects will be triggering around the same time, but rules-wise it's pretty clear cut, right?
Modifying Stake Execution to require a wound to be inflicted seems like the clear path forward, but if we're not happy about that, seems like there's plenty of other directions we could go in. On the wound-removing thing, my thinking is just that we have 2 Marvel Undead dudes with Undead Resilience (Living Mummy, Kirigi), and 1 with a wound-ignoring thing. (Headpool) So when we're looking at characters that Blade would actually meet and interact with in-universe, preventing wound-removal makes sense as an add to me. Wound-removal is also a pretty consistent vampire aesthetic in our game, and while none of the Life Drain stuff we currently have works on an opponent's turn, maybe it could one day? Idk, definitely not hugely passionate about it, it just makes sense to me. |

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Design Phase)
Looking again, I'm not seeing how they have the same timing at all
THID has an immediately in it so it would occur first. I agree that it's not necessarily ideal, but I'm not in love with the wounds received option either. |

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Design Phase)
Stake Execution occurs first, right? It occurs after an opponent’s figure defends from an attack. TIHID occurs at the end of a figure’s turn.

I'd agree with Nobody here. I think the biggest issue is it's not 100% obvious and requires an interpretation.

Well I'm not sold on any solution thus far...

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Design Phase)
I guess I'll make another pitch for the Tracking power. Don't know if it's something you have any interest in, but it's kinda stuck in my brain as something that (a) thematically makes a lot of sense with Blade's powerset, (b) has some cool mechanical interplay with the stake power, and (c) sells that "monster hunting monsters" theme, since auto-moves have kind of. been a running theme for our Undead at this point.

It's cool, but it just doesn't say Blade to me. This one where I feel like we are 75% of the way there. Just not sure how to hurdle that last 25% yet.

Actually, thinking about this more, what if we altered Margloth's take and did something like:

Might go with Phantom Walk over Disengage, but that's cool.
