Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
For the record, I don't know all that much about the He-Man universe. I never had any of the toys growing up but friends did. I watched the cartoon from time to time but it was never a must see tv for me. I think it came on pretty early and I often slept in. Always felt Skeletor had a cool look for a bad guy though, and really liked Battle Cat as I've long had a strong interest in the Big Cats of our world (Tigers, Lions, Panthers, etc.), so seeing one you could ride around on like a horse was really awesome. So I'm no authority on theme here and will defer to those who are more invested in the lore.
If he's really that crazy strong, then I like the knockback power idea for him even when not playing with knockback rules. I imagine anyone he hits is going to get moved against their will. Then that sword blocking comic image makes me think auto-shield on defense. |

Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
Maybe the Power Sword could be +2 attack for anyone (since anyone could wield it as a weapon fairly effectively) and auto shield on defense for those with the Honorable personality? Cutting the ranged counter strike out sounds like it might be more thematic and it should help some with the Heroic Duty/pod concerns.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
Just jumping in to say that inflicting 2 wounds on a figure with 6 defense happens quite often for me. Especially if he's going to be taking on formidable foes, and he has no built in defense special. I'd hate to see the biggest aspect of his design be something he needs to chase around on the board. I get the glyph mechanic, but I don't feel he should lose it so easily IMO.

Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
I mean, odds wise yeah, but I've been so accustomed to either botching or rolling low on higher defense figures, that even a roll of 3-5 skulls could knock that thing out in 2-3 attempts I'd imagine, which then he's going to be forced to chase it around. Having no range, that'll make him spend turns just to go get it, and depending on the map or if he's swarmed, that could prove devastating.
Not suggestion it needs to be changed, I'd just hate to see that become how the design is played. If he loses it in the comics every so often or it's something Skeletor seeks, I feel simply dropping it upon defeat would suffice, or maybe up it to 3 wounds, so he's more likely to only lose it once in a game from a truly devastating blow? |

Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
Yeah, I feel Skeletor should have to defeat him in order to recover the sword and make it his. Maybe give the sword one bonus for He-Man and a different bonus for Skeletor though, then others can pick it up and use it but it's not as good an item for them.

Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
I actually like the idea of losing it with 3 wounds or more. It should be difficult but not impossible for him to use it.
I am pretty certain (though I have no video evidence to post yet) that he blocks laser and the like with his sword in the cartoon. I DO like the idea of different boosts for He-man and Skeletor than the masses. Good thoughts all around here! Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. DISCLAIMER: C3G claims no ownership of the characters or artwork used for C3G customs. Re: The Book of He-Man (Breathing Period)
I'm in favor of needing defeat to lose the sword and giving Skeletor some sort of buff when having it. I understand why it is an Equipment Glyph, but it should feel dynamic and not something that's just going to get dropped then guarded by the enemy team for the whole game.

For Spidey, any thoughts on what bonus Skeletor might have with the Power Sword? Also, I know for sure that he blocks things with the sword. The big question is does he deflect them? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
