Re: The Book of the Tick
So is everyone onboard with what Karat posted for wording then, he went back to the d20 roll for the DO damage. While I do prefer the DO destruction happening at a fairly higher rate than the 1 in 6 blank concept, I also like the idea of keeping all 3 die roll effect combat die rolls instead of mixing them. How about it's just an unblockable attack die instead of needing a blank? 50/50 chance of him dealing 1W to a DO seems much more in the spirit of what we see happening around him in the cartoon.
CLUMSY OAF While moving normally with The Tick, the first time he moves onto or adjacent to a Destructible Object during this player turn, roll an unblockable combat die against that Destructible Object. When attacking with the Tick, if one or more blanks are rolled, subtract 1 skull from that attack. When defending with the Tick, if the results include two or more skulls, choose an adjacent figure, if possible, that figure receives 1 wound. |

Re: The Book of the Tick
If everyone is on board with that, then I'll update the SP with this and call for the initial vote. That 270? point guess is something that had been sitting there from years ago, not sure if it's still an accurate starting guess or not. I can try some 1 on 1's here since he doesn't have any significant synergy or team support powers.
NAME = THE TICK SPECIES = HUMANOID UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CHAMPION PERSONALITY = DELUSIONAL SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 6 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 7 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 270? “SPOON!” Once per game, after winning Initiative, you may reveal the X Order Marker on this card. If you do, for rest of the round, after rolling combat dice while attacking or defending, you may choose to change one blank rolled to a skull. NIGH-INVULNERABILITY 7 Anytime The Tick would receive one or more wounds from an attack, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 7 or higher, ignore those wounds. WEAK-MINDED 3 If any player rolls the 20-sided die to take temporary or permanent control of the Tick, that player may add 3 to the roll. Re: The Book of the Tick
Looks good overall. Don’t have the calculator handy or I’d do a cost estimate.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of the Tick
The Tick Custom Mini Creation and Painting Guide:
Start off with a Ace figure from the Heroclix Crisis DC set shown below: The Ace figure is a pretty good match as is, with the primary piece that is missing being the Tick's antenna. I started this process by using some small scrap pieces of copper wire I already had on hand, snipped to length desired using wire cutters. To insure they would stay in place, I used a tiny drill bit to hand drill two tiny holes in the top of Ace's head then dropped a bit of glue into the holes along with the bits of wire. I also used my hobby knife to shave part of Ace's face down and form the initial concept from his mask. Next I covered the wire up with some material to make them look more like antenna, and finished detailing his jaw line and other mask details. For this step I used Games Workshop "Green Stuff" but other companies sell similar stuff. While it may sound intimidating to the uninitiated, it's actually quite easy to use. Green stuff, and products similar to it, involve mixing two different materials together using a little bit of force. That creates a soft modeling plastic that will slowly harden over the next hour or so after mixing. Water is a very useful tool when working with this soft plastic material, be sure to wet your figures and any tools you want to use as the water will help move the plastic and keep it from drying out/hardening before you are ready. I've found that a finger nail care kit has several little metal tools that are useful for moving and shaping the soft plastic material. Small screwdrivers, wood working tools, and just about any other similar tool would work equally as well. Specifically, I'm talking about the two tools seen on the left here. If this all sounds like too much work for you, then you could alternately use some kind of modeling clay to form the attenna, or just attach some bits of plastic hose or similar item removed from another plastic item you own or purchase. For the mask details, you could shape it all just by removing layers of Ace's head and face as well, just don't go overboard and end up with a tiny head. The final step is then to just paint the figure. He's really easy to do since 90% or so is the blue suit. The only other two colors are first the flesh part of his head that is exposed, then the white teeth and eyes. I would recommend a wash (watered down dark shade of paint applied to the whole mini) for this mini as the dark liquid will pool in the creases here and let the all the muscle lines pop. Just don't apply the wash to the eyes or teeth sections as you want them to be bright white. |

Re: The Book of the Tick
Fantastic stuff here, thanks for handling all of the art prep early on.
EDIT: Are we in breathing here? Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of the Tick
I was actually about to call for the Initial vote here. I have not updated the SP yet though, it's still shows where it started. The last take is a few posts before this one (Post #26).

Re: The Book of The Tick - Vote Initial PT
yea And 270 seems like a good starting point. Nigh Invulnerability has the potential to make him really, really good. Like Robin Dick Grayson with 5 Life instead of 3 and 7 attack good.
