Probably not a ice cream stand but it's easy to find something to climb on top of to get some height. The giant octopus is about 30 feet from end to end, about 600 pounds and looks frenzied as it grabs a woman on the beach.

Oh, snap. Lana rushes down and tries to help the woman. As she runs, she will activate Ability Boost to give her a strength of 12.

If she gets there in time, she will try to disentangle & pull the woman free. With a strength of 12, according to the book, she can lift 1 ton.

Since you were circling, roll a d6. Multiply that by 100 and that's how many feet away you are from the octopus. It's right at the edge of the water, pulling a woman back to the ocean.

And I looked up underwater communication devices and they only go about half a mile.

Thanks! I rolled a 2, so 200 feet away. 1 mile = 5280 feet, so Rockstar is still within 2600 feet or so of my current location.

The Octopus appears to be a distraction, something that big would not have gone unnoticed in previous kidnappings. Which means whoever is doing the kidnapping knew we were there staking out the place, a leak at FHI or maybe someone we questioned like a cop or one of the homeless? We can figure that out later though, I better help end the Octopus distraction as quickly as possible and limit the damage it does to my allies.

Although my searching the fringes has not turned up any secret allies in the area, I'm not ready to fully reveal what I can do though in case we are being observed from afar. I'll also leave the cloaking devise on and continue moving after firing my Disco Blaster to make it more difficult to locate where the shots are coming from. This all occurring at night will certainly help add to the confusion for anyone trying to spot me.

Round 1
Initiative roll of 8 + (2 base speed) = 10
2 actions:

1st Action - Run towards the Giant Octopus, base move of 2, 3 when running (60'/round), after 50' of running closes the distance to the Octopus to 150', will fire Disco Blaster (2nd Action details below), then continue moving but not running and not straight at the Octopus, instead at about a 45 degree angle forward, so I end about 147' from Octopus and 3' to the left of where I fired my Disco Blaster.

2nd Action - Fire Disco Blaster at the Giant Octopus (range 50 yards = 150 feet) D20 roll: 9 + 1 (Dex) +6 (level 7) = 16
Giant Squid AC is 17, so miss?
If not, damage is 3 (rolled on d6) + 5 (weapon damage) + 1 (Dex) = 9 HP

I test my super Intelligence by trying to calculate a complicated formula. If I cannot, I conclude we are underwater and let Rockstar know via Telepathy either way.

Granite toss the his phone to Kara. Hey kid, watch this phone and see if we hear from the professor or Rockstar, I'm going to help with the squid thing. Granite runs over to help Lana with the woman but is also ready to start swinging at it if needed. Wow that's big sucka! I ain't never hit somethin' like that before.

This giant octopus is not as big as the giant squid in the book. You'll only need a 13 to hit. However, if you miss, there's a 50/50 chance of hitting the woman it has grasped.

Kara fumbles with the phone, but manages to catch it. She's about to stuff it in her pocket and run after Granite, but then the phone dings and Rockstar's messaging about the room appears. Content he's safe for now, Kara proceeds with her original plan and stuffs the phone in her pocket, grabs her staff from the van, and charges after Granite toward the giant octopus. She also lets her hair glow as she runs, activating ESP towards anyone who sees her hair.

When Kara is in touch range of the octopus, she will use Power Touch to cause the Dazed condition for 1 min (target can take no actions but retains AC).
Kara's Power Touch also will cause the Dazzled condition for 1 min (-1 AC and surprised on 1-3 on d6) if the octopus does not succeed at a feat of DEX. (Succeed on 17+, having included all my modifiers.)

If the octopus succeeds at grabbing Kara, she will immediately use her Power Touch as described above. Otherwise it will be her own attack... I rolled a 15 +4 AB = 19.

Given that Kara took time to check the phone and grab her staff, I'm guessing 2 or 3 rounds of combat will occur with the rest of the group before she reaches the octopus.

Edit: initiative roll (d20) 16 + (I don't remember what to add. Speed is 2, DEX is 5 (+1).)

Hilda runs towards the Octopus as well, using her Krav Maga to attack it.

No idea how to roll for her.

Okay, good to know. The die were cast so no changing my mind now, luckily I hit now instead of missing.
