Bringing in ideas from the Legolas thread, should we edit the Workbook titles to emphasize which iteration we are trying to reflect, such as the Workbook of Gimli (The Fellowship), Aragorn (Fellowship/Strider), etc to give everyone a more focused idea on what is being worked on. Assuming we all agree or if not after a vote is taken. I see we already have Gandalf the Grey thread.

Splash in on fire with the organization. I also agree with the proposition by Caps, those seem pretty solid.

Can't wait to see our first fellowship and design thread. Much Excitement.

This is a good idea. We should probably vote first on the idea of doing separate versions instead of just one. It may be a point of contention.

So I think we should start racking our brains for any more ideas we want to put forward for polls we want to put out and we can put any new ones out this Sunday.
Also we could go over the results and figure that out this Sunday too, unless we want to wait 2 weeks, but the brains have been storming already, so I think a clear direction would be better sooner.

Totally on board there, I'd like to get started in earnest. I think we have some good data from our polls, we should be able to make a mission statement from that data eventually which will be essential for all design work.

All the talk of Cave Troll recently gave me inspiration for the three hill trolls from unexpected journey as a unique squad but I didnt want to derail other things and looking back, I didnt think anything special would come of it that couldnt be accomplished with a scenario. I've got tons of ideas, just trying not to flood.

That'd be a fun one, they'd be good at bagging dwarfs lol. Yeah, keep that in your back pocket though, you never know how soon it'll come up. Heading to bed, but I'll be free tomorrow night if that works for most to go over results or we could wait until Sunday, whatever works.

The nice thing about discussion boards is we can do things asynchronously. I'd like to wait a full two weeks before considering the polls settled. I'll bring it up a few more places on Sunday.


Some of the answers are pretty clear, and we can use those to make calls on the ones that are closer. So that we can get started in the meantime.

With that said, I think we're doing what we need to be doing right now: brainstorming on the orcs and trolls and getting them ready for us to start refining. If past experience is any indication, we are still at *least* a few days away from anyone having something they want to propose we start refining. Usually someone floats a card (in plain text, but with stats, powers, and left box text), a few counter ideas float around and we end up with something we can vote on, whether it's choosing between different proposals or a binary yay/nay on a single proposal. Not everyone has the same amount of time to dedicate, so that process often takes a week or as many as several (there's an ebb and flow in these projects in the long run). Sometimes it goes quicker though. We're all excited and engaged so I do expect it to go quicker right now.

I'm glad to see everyone else is excited. I'm excited too. But I encourage you all to remember these projects take time and patience as well as excitement.

Random thought.

Eventually I assume there will be mounted units, looking at Rohan and Warg riders. I saw someone make a custom squad of just mounts not too long ago, just a group of figures that had the carry ability.

Wargs might be a fun squad or common hero to use that idea with. They could have carry and some sort of sharkish ability like rolling more attacks vs a wound (bloodied) figure. They can also fall into the wolf category that exists because they are just a deeply disturbed and tormented breed of wolf for Tolkien.

So I tried to move all the brainstorm threads to the next "down" if you'll forgive my Football analogy. Everyone please have a look and post your thoughts, critiques, etc.

@Shiftrex do you want to create an Idea Index thread with links to all the ideas for things that we're not ready to do yet? It could have links to things in the brainstorming thread or links to threads that are sitting idle. While I think we should focus on our priorities it's also cool to work on other ideas.

I made a new thread for planning releases. I think it's useful to think about which figures would be released at the same time, and once most of the figures from a "set" are done we can prioritize those who are left.

I think another figure that might warrant a second card release is the Nazgul. I'm thinking of them as Uncommon heroes, with one horseback card and one fell-beast card (gains flying, larger figure). I might call them "Nazgul" & "Nazgul (Mounted)".
