Ohio Valley Scapers - SEASON II RULES

Hey there Scapers! Season 2 of the OVAH Cup has begun as of 5/10/09. The new points and scoring system for 2010 is as follows:

I. OVAH Cup - Scoring.

1. Any scored tournament must have at least 10 playing attendees to be counted toward the OVAH CUP.

2. Points are awarded as follows:
1st Place = 10 points
2nd Place = 7 points
3rd Place = 5 points
4th Place = 3 points
5th Place = 1 point
Anyone not placing 1-5 does not receive any OVAH CUP points for placement.

3. Bonus Point Rules: May be awarded at the discretion of the Tournament Director, but the points must be objective-based to qualify, such as "first person to attack" or "first person to destroy a 'cheerleader figure'", not simply "if you use all figures of one army" or "if you use 20 points less in your army build."

Bonus objectives are worth up to .25 points per objective, with a maximum 1 point awarded per tournament. Bonus Point values per objective are to be determined by the TD at each event. Bonus Points may only be retained by the top 5 scorers at every event.

4. The 2009-2010 Season begins on May 11, 2009 and runs through May 1st, 2010. The Awards Ceremony/OVAH Tournament will be held on the second Saturday of May, 2010.

II. OVAH Cup Championship
This year will not have any Championships - the person with the highest OVAH Cup Score at the end of the season is the King of OVAH. There will be no "Top 16" Tournament this year, but instead we will hold a "Genesis II" tournament on the second Saturday of May, 2010, where we will have the award ceremony.

I just realized how well you're keeping up with this for us Superfly. Takes a load off me compared to last year. I will miss the top 16 knockout but there will still be a big event (hopefully) at the end of the season.

How do you join OVAH? I live in the Mid Ohio Valley (Parkersburg-Marietta area). Me and some local friends started playing Heroscape recently and were talking about meeting up with others to play.

OVAH is more of a loose association now that Onion Knight has mercilessly abandonded us. Essentially, if you play scape and live in the OH/WPA/IN/KY area you're already a member.

If you have a 'tournament' where 10 or more show up, we record the points for the top 5 players. In the end, you get a trophy for a prize and bragging rights.
