HistoryScape Russia in Transition-- Rasputin Design Thread
Welcome to Historyscape Rasputin Design Thread Rasputin is an extremely famous Russian Priest. He followed a cult that believed that the only way to reach his God was to indulge in sin: for only through sin could one be truly forgiven and admitted to heaven. As such, he was known for his drinking and seduction. Most notably, Rasputin became a very influential political figure during WWI. Nicholas II had abandoned the Winter Palace for the front lines, opting to run the army while his wife, Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna, was left to manage domestic affairs. Nicholas II's only son and heir, Alexi Nikolaevich, was a sickly boy, having been diagnosed with haemophelia at a young age. As such, he was very closely observed, as the slightest illness or injury could lead to his death. Rasputin was called upon to attempt to heal Alexi. Miraculously, he was able to quell the haemophelia, and Rasputin earned the trust of the Tsarina. This lowly peasant became one of the most influential men in Russia as the Tsarina's adviser. Though there are many rumours of a love affair between the two, there is no historic evidence to support this, save one instant where Rasputin appeared naked and drunk to address a crowd, pointed to his genitals and yelled "This is what rules Russia!" Many men of higher standing disapproved of Rasputin. In 1916, a plot to have him killed was carried out. It is from this plot that he gains his notoriety as the "spawn of Satan." Being told that there was a young virgin who wished to learn his teachings, Rasputin was lured to the house of his assailant. There, he was invited to dine on cakes and wine, each containing enough poison to kill a man. He drained two goblets of wine, ate three cakes, and showed no negative side effects. In fear and awe, his host shot him in the chest and watched him fall to the ground. Upon bending over to inspect the body, Rasputin grabbed the man's wrist, opened his eyes and said "you bad boy." The man fled to warn his household guards. They found Rasputin stumbling towards the exit, and proceeded to shoot at him for over 5 minutes. When he fell, the guards beat his body for thirty minutes and tossed his body in the river. When his body was recovered, medical professionals established that he had regained consciousness and attempted to swim to safety before finally drowning. -Reference Mark Croswell Historic Author American history Russia 1800-1990 China 1860-1976 Arab-Israeli Conflict 1945-1980 Card
Spoiler Alert!
Current Design General = Vydar Name = Gregori Rasputin Type = Unique Hero Class = Monk Personality = Devout Size/Height = Medium 5 Life = 1 Move = 5 Range = 1 Attack = 2 Defense = 2 Points = 80 Hard to Kill If Gregori Rasputin is attacked and at least 1 skull is rolled, roll the 20-sided die for Hard to Kill. If you roll a 1-6 roll defense dice normally. If you roll a 7 or higher, Gregori Rasputin takes no damage and may immediately move up to 1 space. If Gregori Rasputin starts his Hard to kill movement engaged, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks. Gregori Rasputin can only use Hard to Kill if he is not on or adjacent to a water space. The Tsarina's Gratitude ( 8 ) After Moving and instead of attacking, choose an opponent's wounded small or medium Hero adjacent to Gregori Rasputin and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll an 8 or higher, remove one wound marker from the chosen figure's army card, take temporary control of the chosen Hero, and immediately take a turn with that Hero. At the end of that turn, control of the chosen Hero returns to its previous owner. All Order Markers that were on the figure's Army Card will stay on the figure's Army Card. The Tsarina's Gratitude does not effect Soulborgs, Constructs, or Undead.
