Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
Not a fan of the Penguinesque d20 rolls for random choice bonding.
I like what you've got much better Hahma. If anything I was wondering how to give them an additional turn. Being that they are all bruisers with Super Strength, I was thinking about how Knockback could interplay with their abilities to set each other up. Maybe something like. Quote:
Or reward them for wrecking (destroying) stuff Quote:

yes I did. Left the tab open for a few awhile and was reading other stuff and then came back to it. The 15 minute ninja.

Removing the "take a turn with this figure" option would allow it to stay similar to original power, but still offer a risk of failure with no activations and the availability of reward with double activation. Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
You could also make it an optional roll?

Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
You may not like this, but I'll throw it out there because I think it's a neat mechanic that could be used somewhere.
A frenzy style bonding with a d20 roll that happens after taking a turn with that figure. They get bonuses for destroying things. I like it because potentially you could take a turn with all 4 members. Granted it would be really powerful, but would only happen like 1/100 games. Would be fun to try. The last line might not read correctly, but it's meant to only activate if you didn't use Kingpin or LexCorps bonding to start the chain, but can continue after each Wrecking Crew figures turn. Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
With Hahma's edits, I agree that the roll should be optional. That way, if the player fails his roll and loses his turn, he can blame himself for gambling or his dice, but not the designers. I like that.

Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
Potentially infinite turn loop, even with only 2 figures. Piledriver, Wrecker, Piledriver, Wrecker, Piledriver, Wrecker, . . .
Needs a cap somewhere. And it can be started the same way we start every other power that we want to force an OM on -- "After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with . . . " |

Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
There is a potential infinite loop on Hal Jordan if you land your rolls. I like what Good Pig has.
Though honestly, I don't see the problem with having some simpler designs and am perfectly happy with the OP. |

Re: The Book of Piledriver - Design Phase
After looking at the OP again, I can see how the Wrecking Crew power could be fun to a lot of people kind of using it as a surprise "I'm attacking from this side with this guy" attack.
I will relent my case and support the OP as fun. As a side note to tickle, I love simple designs. Many of my designs are simple in fact. It is boring designs that I try to avoid. |
