C3G GOALS
1) To have a collection of Comic Book style Heroscape Custom Designs that are 100% compatible with each other and all of the official Heroscape License.
2) For each custom design to accurately reflect the selected theme and to maintain a comic book style and thematic feel to its design.
3) To have each Custom Design be a collaborative effort from our C3G members while encouraging support, good ideas, and productive effort from the entire Heroscapers.com community.
4) Maintain the position of at least 4 and no more than 8 core members (hereby referred to as "Heroes") who are enthusiastic, well respected, and active Heroscapers.com members.

C3G RULES
1) For any decision to be finalized a Proposition must be submitted in a C3G Voting thread or in a Design's own thread. Only C3G Heros are allowed to make a proposition.
2) Each Proposition will have 2 days to achieve a majority vote. A Proposition will stay active for 2 days or until all Heroes have voted, then the proposition will be closed. Once a proposition is closed, the votes will be tallied. If there are not at least 4 votes in favor of passing the proposition, the proposition fails and the votes will not be tallied. A vote consists of a C3G Hero member posting yes or no in a C3G Voting thread or individual design thread. If you do not vote, your vote will not be counted (obviously).
3) If there is a split decision on a Proposition, then a PM will be sent to the Sidekicks concerning the split decision. The first C3G Sidekick to respond to the PM with their vote, will have the deciding vote. If a majority vote could not be achieved within 2 days of the initial tallying, the Proposition will be canceled.
4) For a C3G Hero to design a custom, they must simply follow the guide lines laid down HERE.
Spoiler Alert!
C3G PRODUCTION GUIDE
- SELECTION PHASE - Private
Spoiler Alert!
There will be a Private Brainstorming Thread.
In this thread, each Hero will have a Design Pool in the first post. Each week, the Heroes may post 1 design selection to go into their own Design Pool. When posting your selection, keep it simple and use this example:
Quote:
1. Superman – Clark Kent – Unique Hero – DC
|
You may even choose to pick a specific figure. Also, each week, the Heroes may post up to 7 comments on other design choices, no more, no less.
Each Hero may post up to 8 posts in this Brainstorming Thread – one Selection Post and seven Brainstorming Posts each week – no more, no less, no distracting chatter. The first post of the thread will be updated with a list of everyone’s selections under their name. The list would be a series of links that would carry you to the place in the thread where the selection was made and hopefully make it easier to find the part of the thread where brainstorming for that selection was done as well. Each Brainstorming post that you make should start with the name of the Design in bold at the top, so it will be easier to find by searching or scrolling.
Spoiler Alert!
Heroes may start new Private threads with a Design choice from their own Design Pool. No C3G Hero may have more than two active design threads at one time. Heroes will be responsible, on a weekly basis, for updating the first post of their Design threads with a synopsis of that week's discussion and progress.
The following are the minimum requirements for a design thread in the C3G forum for any C3G design type and moving it to the Playtesting Phase.- Figure Design: A rough draft write up with title, subtitle, left box information, base stats, power names, text, and symbols, figure art for an acceptable figure, possible figure background art, comic art, and a cost estimate. The Lead Designer is also responsible to request at least two ERB responses, secure an immediate second post for making updates concerning the thoughts, discussion, and votes of the Design during the entire production of the Design. Afterwards, a Full Initial Play Test Sheet must be done by a Hero and posted and 24 hours must pass before a proposition to move to the Playtesting Phase can be made.
- Glyph Design: Potential glyph art (this should be an icon image such as those seen sunken into the ground on official and World's Finest glyphs), the glyph's name, the glyph type (temporary, permanent, treasure, etc.), and a rough draft of the glyph's power. The Lead Designer is also responsible to request at least two ERB responses, to secure an immediate second post for making updates concerning the thoughts, discussion, and votes of the Design during the entire production of the Design. Afterwards, a Play Test must be done by a Hero and posted and 24 hours must pass before a proposition to move to the Playtesting Phase can be made.
- Scenario Design: A rough draft of the storyline intro, scenario/set-up rules (including any army requirements), player goals, victory conditions, and an associated map with Virtual Scape build instructions.
- Optional Rule Design: A rough draft of fully written out rules text. The Lead Designer is also responsible to request at least two ERB responses, to secure an immediate second post for making updates concerning the thoughts, discussion, and votes of the Design during the entire production of the Design. Afterwards, a Play Test must be done and posted and 24 hours must pass before a proposition to move to the Playtesting Phase can be made.
- Destructible Object Design: A picture of an actual object that can be used that is of appropriate scale, cost, availability, background art, a rough draft write up of a card with any relevant left-box, title, subtitle, base stat info, and powers and power text.
- Terrain Design: A picture of an actual object that can be used that is of appropriate scale, cost, availability, title, and height.
NOTE - C3G also has a "Breathing Period" where newly posted designs must NOT be edited in any way for its first 48 hours to give the Heroes a chance to comment before changes are made.
Spoiler Alert!
Check out the Playtesting FAQs! Once C3G Design Threads have been moved to the playtesting phase, they will be posted in the public Playtest Sign-up Thread. Any Heroscaper, C3G Hero, C3G Sidekick, or C3G Ally can sign-up for one playtest at a time, and the Lead Designer will PM that member the current form of the design. The Playtester must return any completed Playtest Sheet to the Lead Designer, who will post it in the appropriate Private Design Thread. The Playtester must not share the Design with anyone other than the Lead Designer, and failure to comply, can/will be grounds for dismissal from the C3G project.
The following are the minimum requirements for Playtesting any C3G Design and moving it to the Final Editing Phase.- Figure Design: 2 Playtesters are required. Each test should be done on a BoV or C3G competitive map (Heroes and Sidekicks can playtest on any map). Each playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet (see link) that includes detailed reports of 2 army tests with the tested Design as part of an army battling another army of the same point cost. Playtested Figure Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to finalize cost and move to the Final Editing Phase.
- Glyph Design: 1 Playtester is required. A test should be done on a BoV or C3G competitive map with Glyph placements designated (Heroes and Sidekicks can playtest on any map). A playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet that includes detailed reports of two full army tests. Playtested Glyph Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
- Scenario Design: 1 Playtester is required. A playtester should build the map according to the build instructions and play through the scenario at least twice before submitting a feedback sheet with detailed reports of the scenario playtests.Full Feedback Sheet Scenario Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
- Optional Rule Design: 1 Playtester is required. Each test should be done on a BoV or C3G competitive map (Heroes and Sidekicks can playtest on any map). A playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet. Playtested Optional Rule Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
- Destructible Object Design: 1 Playtester is required. Each test should be done on a BoV or C3G competitive map (Heroes and Sidekicks can playtest on any map). A playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet. Playtested Destructible Object Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
- Terrain Design: 1 Playtester is required. Each test should be done on a BoV or C3G competitive map (Heroes and Sidekicks can playtest on any map). A playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet. Playtested Terrain Designs must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
As a side note, Heroes may test on any map for the initial playtest.
Spoiler Alert!
Once a C3G design is approved for "Release", it will be indexed in a private thread called "C3G On Deck". The " C3G On Deck" thread is where Designs will privately sit on hold, until the Heroes vote them to be released publicly. All Figure Designs will be voted into a wave of 10 (in not particular order) and released publicly.
These waves may necessitate additional, "whole set" testing before being released.
Spoiler Alert!
Once a Design has been moved to the private " C3G On Deck" thread, the Lead Designer may go back to the Selection Phase.
For a C3G Ally to create a Design, they must meet the requirements listed in this thread, then they must submit their top 5 choices to work on in the same thread. The Heroes will then discuss the choice and decide if the Ally can work on one of the 5 choices, or if a new list should be made. Then the Ally will start a public Design Thread in which they will follow the same process as listed in the above spoiler tag. However, Ally designs will be released immediately in the Release Phase as a C3G Exclusive.
5) If a change to a Design is requested by a C3G Hero, it is the Creator/Designer's job to make those corrections. The Creator/Designer may choose to not make the requested change. If the Creator/Designer decides to not make the requested change, their decision can only be overruled by a Majority vote from the C3G Heroes.
6) No one will ever post a picture of their own or someones custom design in any C3G thread. If a member wishes to share or reference another design, they may do so by simply posting a link or using the spoiler tags.
This process should be fun and structured, if at any time there is a rule that is hindering the process, the group may simply bypass the rule with a unanimous vote for the sake of progress only.

We should update this post to note that each vote in the process is called either when all Heroes have voted or 48 hours has passed. This is the universal standard for C3G votes. We need to make it clearer to LDs.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
