This is something I've been meaning to bring up, and something we should probably try to be mindful of. There's a few different ways to word stat boots, in two categories: modifying the number and modifying the spaces/roll. In this case, for defense, that's these categories:

"roll X additional dice when defending" or "add X to their defense" or "add X to their defense dice" = boosting a roll (see Ronan or Captain America)
"add X to their Defense number" = modifying the number (see Joker or Vixen)

This is relevant for something like the following: "When attacking with Superhero Guy, roll 1 additional die if he is attacking the figure on the battlefield with the highest Defense number." The first type would not be relevant here, the second wouldn't. Extremely minor difference, but occasionally meaningful. I don't think we've been at all consistent about which one applies when.

So with that in mind, your options. ("While" is probably our precedent here and I agree it sounds better.)

I AM HERE
While All Might is engaged, all figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces of All Might add 1 to their defense, or 2 if they are Students.

I AM HERE
While All Might is engaged, all figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces of All Might add 1 to their defense dice, or 2 if they are Students.

I AM HERE
While All Might is engaged, all figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces of All Might add 1 to their Defense number, or 2 if they are Students.

I AM HERE
While All Might is engaged, when rolling defense dice for a figure you control 4 clear sight spaces of All Might, roll 1 additional die, or 2 if that figure is a Student.
