Griffin and I conferred to put together a post here about the life of a C3G Design for the future, including what our new playtesting standards are:
1) DESIGN PHASE

Once this process has been initiated, any C3G Hero or Sidekick will be eligible for the creation of a new design thread. However, no C3G Hero or Sidekick may have more than one active design thread at one time. After the initial design choices have been made (directed by Spidey'tilIDie), future choices will be made on a first come, first serve basis by each C3G Hero.
The following are the minimum requirements for posting a new design thread in the C3G forum for any C3G design type and moving it to the playtesting phase.
Figure Unit Type: A rough draft write up with title, subtitle, left box information, base stats, power names, text, and symbols, figure art for an acceptable figure, possible figure background art, comic art, and a cost estimate.
The Figure Unit must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Playtesting Phase. Collaborative changes should be expected.
Glyphs Unit Type: Potential glyph art (this should be an icon image such as those seen sunken into the ground on official and World's Finest glyphs), the glyph's name, the glyph type (temporary, permanent, treasure, etc.), and rough draft of the glyph's power.
The Glyph Unit must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Playtesting Phase. Collaborative changes should be expected.
Scenarios Unit Type: A rough draft of the storyline intro, scenario/set-up rules (including any army requirements), player goals, victory conditions, and an associated map with Virtual Scape build instructions. No campaigns in a single thread! Scenarios may be part of a larger campaign, but only one scenario may be posted in a single design thread.
The Scenario Unit must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Playtesting Phase. Collaborative changes should be expected.
Optional Rules Unit Type: A rough draft of fully written out rules text.
The Optional Rules Unit must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Playtesting Phase. Collaborative changes should be expected.
Destructible Objects Unit Type: An actual object that can be used that is of appropriate scale, cost, and availability, background art, and a rough draft write up of a card with any relevant leftbox, title, subtitle, and base stat info and powers and power text.
The Destructible Object must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Playtesting Phase. Collaborative changes should be expected.
2) PLAYTESTING PHASE

Check out the Playtesting FAQs! Once C3G Design Threads have been moved to the playtesting phase, certain requirements must be met to move them to the final editing phase. Any forum contributors may submit a feedback sheet, but at least one C3G Hero other than the Designer of that C3G Design must be involved in the playtesting of each Design and submit one full feedback sheet.
The following are the minimum requirements for Playtesting any C3G Unit Type and moving it to the Final Editing Phase.
Figure Unit Type: 3 Playtesters are required. Each test should be done on a BoV map. Each playtester should complete a Full Feedback Sheet (see link) that includes detailed reports of the following tests: five tests versus heroes of the same or close to the same point cost (can either be one "heavy hitter" or two mid level heroes), one test versus a squad of the same or close to the same point cost, one melee army test with the test unit as part of a melee oriented army battling a melee oriented army of the same point cost, and one ranged army test with the test unit as part of a range oriented army battling a range oriented army of the same point cost.
Playtested Figure Units must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to finalize cost and move to the Final Editing Phase.
Glyph Unit Type: 2 Playtesters are required. Each test should be done on a BoV map with Glyph placements designated. Each playtester should complete a full feedback sheet that includes detailed reports of two full army tests (point values are up to playtesters, but the armies should be considered evenly matched). Each test should incorporate different army selections.
Playtested Glyph Units must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
Scenario Unit Type: 2 Playtesters are required. Each playtester should build the map according to the build instructions and play through the scenario at least twice before submitting a feedback sheet with detailed reports of the scenario playtests.
Playtested Scenario Units must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
Optional Rule Type: 2 Playtesters are required. Each test should be done on a BoV map. Each playtester should complete a full feedback sheet that includes detailed reports of two full army tests (point values are up to playtesters, but the armies should be considered evenly matched). Each test should incorporate different army selections. There may be additional necessary requirements based on the details of the optional rules design (to be determined in individual design threads).
Playtested Optional Rule Units must be approved by a majority C3G hero vote to move to the Final Editing Phase.
