C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Bailey Hoskins AKA “The Bomb”
Army Test
Map: Vallum by Killometer.
Units: Bailey, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Phoenix (650) vs. Uncle Sam, Rocket Red x1, Kryptonian Soldier x1, and Bucky (650).
Spoiler Alert!
Uncle Sam makes the Kryptonian Soldier Patriotic, and the game begins! Cyclops moves Bailey, then Jean Grey. Uncle Sam moves. Cyclops moves Bailey again, then Jean misses Sam. Bucky moves, then Rocket Red flies up and kills Bailey with a normal attack, no height. Let’s try that again.
Cyclops moves himself, then Jean Grey. The Kryptonian Soldier and Bucky move. Cyclops moves Bailey, then Uncle Sam moves. Bailey goes in to strike, and rolls… 1 skull. 1 wound to Uncle Sam. Sam waltzes up and smashes Cyclops for 3 wounds.
In the next round, the patriots take over. Bucky slays Cyclops, then Jean Grey fights back by putting two wounds onto Bucky. After a couple more moves, Jean Grey is eliminated by Sam and replaced by Phoenix who is wounded by the Kryptonian. Phoenix Fire misses 3/3 rolls.
Phoenix puts up a fight with a strong Psionic Blast and begins putting wounds down, even managing to kill Bucky. But it doesn’t last long, and the patriots win handily.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Uncle Sam w/ 2 wounds, Kryptonian Soldier w/ 1 wound, and Rocket Red unharmed.

Army Test
Map: Vallum by Killometer.
Units: Bailey, Professor X, Nightcrawler (Darkholme), Psylocke, and Sunfire (1000) vs. Black Hand and Black Lantern x3 (1000).
Spoiler Alert!
Professor X allows Nightcrawler and Sunfire to move, then the Black Lanterns move. Psylocke and Bailey move, then a Black Lantern tries to hit Nightcrawler, who teleports. The other Lanterns engage Psylocke and Nightcrawler. Bailey runs in and BOOM! 3 wounds (2 to BL1 and 1 to BL2). Black Hand moves up and hits Nightcrawler for 2 wounds.
Psylocke misses BL3 and Nightcrawler hits all 3 teleport rolls, wounding BL1, BL2, and Black Hand. He fails the bonus roll on BL1. BL3 takes 3 wounds from attacking Pyslocke, then BL1 wounds Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler misses some rolls, but teaming up with Psylocke manages to take out all of the Black Lanterns. Black Hand comes to party as well, but doesn’t get too far.
After some bouts with Sunfire and Psylocke in the next round, Black Hand is taken out.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Professor X unwounded, Sunfire unwounded, Psylocke w/ 1 wound, and Nightcrawler w/ 3 wounds.
THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Bailey is bound to come in weak in some cases. In game 1, he rolled particularly poor, but in game 2, 3 wounds really did matter. He’s just 50 points, and I think it feels right more him given the average is 4 skulls, and those wounds ignore defensive powers and point values. His 1 wound onto Uncle Sam is arguably worth his point value, though a weak showing, and taking out ½ and ¼ of uncommon 175 point Black Lanterns is quite a bit of points as well. He feels like an filler unit that gives you an early edge. If you’re 50 points short on an army, he’s great to round it out.
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Bailey is a HUGE risk in game, and that’s the point. Not only can you roll poorly when using his power, he has to be within striking distance and in danger of near-instant death a turn before he goes in. That being said, he’s a whole ton of fun to play! It feels so good to run in and BLAMO!, and it’s quite funny when it fails dramatically.

Here you go! He is SO MUCH FUN! Really. An absolute blast to run in with (no pun intended). It's really difficult to guage, but I didn't feel like he was a complete dud or insane powerhouse at 50 points.
