Re: The Book of Chun-Li (Initial Playtesting Phase)
C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Chun-Li
Army Test
Map: Badlands (Custom Map)
Units: Chun-Li, Dum Dum Dugan, Hawkeye, SHIELD Agents x2 (600 Points) vs. Ronan, Kree Scout x6 (600 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Summary
ROUND 1: Chun-Li is the Accused. Ronan sets up a pretty nice pod across the river and starts to peck at the Agents - two squaddies are killed and Chun-Li takes two wounds.
ROUND 2: Chun tries to move in and take out some Scouts, but 3 Attack isn't of much use. Ronan blows her away. Dugan tries to do some damage, but he rolls poorly and is gunned down next turn.
ROUND 3: Hawkeye is now Accused. He tries to keep his distance, but the Kree are just too fast - he goes down without doing any damage. Two Agents are also taken out.
ROUND 4: The Agents stay back and kill a Scout. But the Scouts move in and kill one...
ROUND 5: The other has a blaze of glory, killing a Scout and wounding Ronan. But it's all for naught.
Who won?: Kree Invaders win; 1 Wound on Ronan, 2 Kree Scouts destroyed, all others unharmed, 5 Rounds.
Thoughts: Not really useful. Limited range, a handful of attacks, but none of them could break through the 5 Defense. She's not useless, but this wasn't a good matchup from any angle. She's only really useful against low-level heroes.

Army Test
Map: Badlands (Custom Map)
Units: Chun-Li, Nick Fury, Spider-Woman, Sharon Carter, Mockingbird (790 Points) vs. Luke Cage, Jewel, Ryu, Ken, Spider-Man (800 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Summary
ROUND 1: Everyone but Spider-Woman is on the Drop Team. Spider-Man meets -Woman, and they fight a bit. Pete takes a wound.
ROUND 2: The Drop Team comes down. Mockingbird is double-teamed by Ryu and Luke, whiffs both attacks, and goes down. Sharon does no damage, but Jewel is Distracted by Jess and can't attack. Ryu and Luke move on to Chun-Li, but she successfully defends, and her Lightning Kicks take Ryu out quickly.
ROUND 3: Ken is ALSO distracted by the Pheremones, Chun-Li manages to get a Wound past Luke, and Spider-Woman takes three from Ken. Luke goes up to three as well, but he finally finishes Chun-Li off.
ROUND 4: Jess hits Ken for three, and deftly dodges some hefty attacks. But Jewel takes a turn and finishes her off. Luke takes his fourth, though.
ROUND 5: Jewel goes after Nick Fury, but does no damage. Sharon Carter finally takes out Luke Cage, though she takes a wound herself. Ken is shot down soon after. Sharon hits Jewel for two.
ROUND 6: Spidey goes after Sharon while Nick and Jewel tussle. Jewel is at three, Nick at two; Spidey at one, Sharon at two. Jewel is the first to fall, execution-style at Nick Fury's hands. Spider-Man gets up to three as well.
ROUND 7: Spidey manages to take out Sharon with his webs. And then, by some miracle, Nick whiffs... and Spider-Man stands victorious.
Who won?: Street Avengers win; 3 Wounds on Spider-Man, all others destroyed, 7 Rounds.
Thoughts: Here she was great! Against the other Street Fighters, she can really hold her own - and if you get in the right position for Lightning Kick, she can really tear it up. The fact that Nick Fury can get her into that position with ease makes them a great pairing... and future Agent movement synergies will also help.

Army Test
Map: Badlands (Custom Map)
Units: Chun-Li, Commander Rogers, Nick Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Ant-Man: Eric O'Grady, SHIELD Agents x2 (990 Points) vs. Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing (1000 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Summary
ROUND 1: Chun-Li, Dugan, and Ant-Man are the Drop Team. The Agents move in, and get a lucky shot, wounding Thing for two. Human Torch burns Cap for one, but takes two from his Energy Shield. Thing survives a Kill Box unwounded. The Torch flies and and burns away two Agents and Rogers, who goes up to 3 Wounds.
ROUND 2: The Drop Team comes down behind the enemy lines. Chun-Li tries to assassinate Sue, and successfully deals two wounds. Torch burns Nick for two. Sue is forced to flee, and neither she nor Reed can hurt their attacker! Dugan comes in and brings Sue up to three. Thing takes out Dum Dum and Torch tries to take out Eric; he takes an LE and whiffs on the burn. Rogers hits Reed for one as he moves in to attack. All the while, the SHIELD Agents move in to support Fury, though they deal no damage to anyone.
ROUND 3: Rogers makes it across the river and takes out Sue! Of course, this puts him in a position to be burned away by Torch, which he succeeds at... though Torch goes up to 4 Wounds. He Supernovas for the fun of it, killing an Agent and bringing Nick up to 4 Wounds. Chun-Li Kicks Reed for two. Thing Clobbers Chun-Li. Torch manages to knock out Fury.
ROUND 4: And the last two Agents fall.
Who won?: Fantastic Four win; 3 Wounds on Mister Fantastic, 4 Wounds on Human Torch, 2 Wounds on the Thing, Invisible Woman destroyed, 4 Rounds.
Thoughts: If the Human Torch wasn't so damn hot with his Flame On, this match would have gone very differently. Chun did her job perfectly; she jumped in, got some attacks in, wounded Sue (forcing her to flee into the Commander's path), and hit Reed for two as well. As a striker out of nowhere, she's great.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Definitely draftable in an Agent build. If you need an assassin to go in, take out a key piece, and survive the process, she's a fair bet. She needs the right support units, but she's usable in those armies. I could see her at 140 or even 150 - but probably 140, since she really needs that support.
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: She's very fun. I didn't get to use Thirst for Justice, but I'm sure it would make her normal attack more worthwhile. All three attack options (at range, with a Spinning Kick, and a Lightning Kick) were used, and she felt very appropriate for the character - get in there and get a bunch of attacks in before she goes down.
