Re: The Book of Vulcan (Playtesting Phase)

Ah, and in from fret, which isn't nearly as troubling:

Pass

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
Pass

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
Pass. His mutant bonding is limited due to Power-Mad.

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
Pass.

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
Pass.

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
Pass.

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
Pass.

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
Pass.

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
Pass. Mental Shield was never used and would almost never be used, but I understand the importance of having it listed regardless.

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
Pass.

Great front line brute. He definitely takes out his worth of the enemy. The only way to beat him is with another heavy hitter. Anyone lightly tapping him will only heal him or cause return damage. I would estimate he is slightly underpriced however. With a few minor boosts (Sage/Captain America) and the high ground he easily achieves, he was rolling 8 to 10 attack dice. By himself he would be no match for Superman II (450), but with a select few figures that can boost his numbers (especially that Defense) he is a killing machine.

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 430-460

Give a brief overview. There were some unexpected results from this battle. Vulcan’s team never won initiative and therefore Joker’s power never activated, even though they received a +6 almost every round from Oracle. This loss of power use actually hurt the team, as both Oracle and Joker were almost a waste of points. 300 points could have been better spent elsewhere, but that is the random element of the game. Vulcan himself was easily a match for either Superman or Hulk and once boosted by Sage he was able to best them both (almost).
Map: Ravaged Road
Units: OM CONTROL (995) – 5th Precinct Beat Cops (65), Joker (190), Oracle (110), Sage (190), Vulcan (440)VERSUS RED, GREEN & BLUE (1000) – Incredible Hulk (380), Red Skull (220), Superman (400)
UNIT SUM-UP
Damage Inflicted: 3 wounds to Red Skull, 6 wounds on Superman, 6 wound on Hulk
Power Usage/Effectiveness:
Power-Mad: 0 (Sage is more effective for OM moving)

Cosmic Energy Mastery:

Unblockable hit: 1 (Superman)
Mental Shield: 0
