Re: The Book of Red Hood - Design Phase

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Red Hood

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
PASS

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
PASS

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
PASS

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit too powerful or too weak.
PASS

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
PASS

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
PASS

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
PASS

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
PASS

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
PASS

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
PASS

Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 180-190 POINTS
- Give a brief overview. Against some units the Red Hood can tear a man to shreds, but against a strong attack he goes down pretty quick. I suspect he'll do great against squads, so 190 seems like a better choice than 180.
Spoiler Alert!

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? <190 POINTS
- Give a brief overview. Todd is trounced!
Map: Country Road
Units: Red Hood (190 Points) vs. Hawkmen of Thanagar x2 (200 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? >190 POINTS
- Give a brief overview. Jason is dominant. I'd call it a wash.
Map: Country Road
Units: Red Hood (190 Points) vs. Vampire Minions x2 (180 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? TBA!
- What should be the unit's point value? 180-190 POINTS
- Give a brief overview. The Titans are obviously the much tighter faction here, and it shows - but the Hood is able to dish out some real damage, earning pack his points easily, and things could have gone very differently had Knockout been able to finish off Raven.
Map: Country Road
Units: Red Hood, Ragdoll, Knockout (580 Points) vs. Nightwing, Starfire, Raven (600 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? TBA!
- What should be the unit's point value? 160-170 POINTS
- Give a brief overview. Red Hood is able to do some damage to the Sidekicks, but he whiffs against Huntress and that seals his fate. He has the potential to be pretty amazing but has no real answer to the stronger units face-to-face. In this game, he was used as the height grabber and had no means to hold it, which I'd say is his weakness.
Map: Country Road
Units: Red Hood, Hush, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Clayface (990 Points) vs. Batman: Bruce Wayne, Huntress, Robin: Dick Grayson, Robin: Tim Drake, Batgirl: Cassandra Cain, Spoiler, Commissioner Gordon, 5th Precinct Beat Cops x2 (950 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

FINAL THOUGHTS: He's amazing in the right situation, but otherwise a sort of unremarkable "shoot lots of times" sort of unit. I could see him at 180 or 190 with the potential to go lower... so I'd start him at 180 and see where that goes.
