Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 125 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. Perfect! A little more conservative play from either side could have turned the tide, but it was super close up until the end. The Warriors are a force to be reckoned with, and good strategy can really put the hurt on high-level heroes.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x3, Gorilla Grodd (600 Points) vs. Green Lantern: Hal Jordan, Flash (600 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Light-Speed wins; 3 Wounds on Flash, Green Lantern destroyed, 5 Rounds.
ROUND 1: The Apes and Grodd advance. Flash runs in, misses his attack on the Warrior, and falls back onto height. The Gorillas swarm him – the first rolls five skulls, but Flash rolls four shields, taking a wound and flying into another ape; the ape is killed, but Flash takes no damage. The next attack triggers his dodge. Grodd approaches. Flash kills a Gorilla and falls back onto the Speed Glyph. Grodd takes a turn and attempts Cognizant Control, but fails. GL moves in and attacks Grodd, but does nothing.
ROUND 2: Grodd smashes Hal, dealing a wound and some knockback. Hal gets onto height and blasts Grodd for three. One Warrior attacks Flash, but he dodges. Grodd attacks Hal again, dealing two wounds. Hal retaliates, dealing two wounds and finishing Grodd off. A Warrior approaches, and one of the two smashes Flash, but he runs away with his dodge. Flash runs up and kills the two Warriors.
ROUND 3: Flash can’t really move, so he nabs the Glyph again. The Warriors move one more onto the road. Flash runs in and attacks, killing one Warrior. The Warriors swarm with ease, getting three attacks of six; two wounds in total, but he dodges the last and runs away. Hal flies in and smashes a Warrior. The Warriors swarm, but can’t do anything to either of them.
ROUND 4: Hal kills another Warrior, but the two attack next and Hal overestimates his strength – he whiffs against two skulls and is killed. The Warriors move in and attack Flash, but, no damage. Flash kills the Warrior. The Warrior attacks, but is dodged.
ROUND 5: Flash only rolls one skull with his attack, but the Warrior whiffs, ending the match.

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 125-135 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. Wow, these guys are Lantern-killing machines! Arkillo got a bad roll early on, leaving the Soldiers with an army of Apes to face down; the Gorillas could easily deal some damage and/or force a burn with each turn, so it was really a matter of time, and the Soldiers did not have enough time to fight the tide off. They felt above-average here, but not by TOO much... the Sinestro Corps could have done better if they kept further away.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x5, Gorilla Grodd (975 Points) vs. Arkillo, Sinestro Corps Warrior x6 (970 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Gorillas win; 4 Gorilla City Warriors remaining, all others destroyed, 6 Rounds.
ROUND 1: The Gorillas moves out. Arkillo eats an Insurgent and flies in, with another approaching the group. A Warrior engages Arkillo and whiffs, another hits a Soldier for nothing as Grodd attacks him for two. The knockback kills the Gorilla. Arkillo kills a Gorilla and the Soldier hits Grodd back one space. A Warrior engages the Soldier and forces a marker burn. Grodd goes to attack Arkillo for one wound and two spaces of knockback. Arkillo Eviscerates and attacks Grodd, killing him with ease. A Soldier flies in and kills a Warrior.
ROUND 2: Arkillo knocks a Warrior back two spaces, and a Soldier finishes him off. A Warrior engages Arkillo, but does no damage. Arkillo kills another Warrior via knockback and a Soldier flies in to aid him. The Warriors swarm, though... and kill him with one attack! The Warriors move in on a Soldier and force a burn.
ROUND 3: A Soldier kills a Gorilla. Two approach and deal a wound, and force his last burn. Another Soldier flies in, but whiffs. Another Gorilla joins; the last Soldier is destroyed, but the newer one is not. The Soldier kills another Gorilla. The Gorillas deal a wound and burn a marker off the Soldier.
ROUND 4: The Warriors force another burn. The Soldier kills a Gorilla. The Gorillas kill a Soldier and force another to burn a marker. A Soldier flies in and attacks, but does no damage; the Gorillas return the favor, dealing one wound and burning a marker. He kills another Warrior.
ROUND 5: The Gorillas move in, dealing a wound and burning the last Marker off of a Soldier. Another Gorilla goes down. The Gorillas move in, killing the Soldier and another heavily-wounded one hanging around. A Soldier flies in and tries to keep his distance, but whiffs, and the Gorillas swarm him – two wounds, one marker off, and some hefty knockback. The Soldier flies onto height again and blast a Gorilla into oblivion.
ROUND 6: Grappling with a Gorilla, the last Soldier hangs on, but whiffs on both attacks; at last, the Gorilla finishes him off.

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 115-125 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. In an army against ranged figures without any Simians to help them, it was a washout. They’re great hero-killers (smashing both Green Arrows and Robin with ease), but less efficient against squads, which seems like a fair match to me.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x4, Martian Manhunter, Jean Grey (980 Points) vs. Black Canary, Green Arrow: Oliver Queen, Green Arrow: Connor Hawke, Robin: Tim Drake, 5th Precinct Beat Cops x6 (980 Points)
Spoiler Alert!
Street Cleaners win; 10 5th Precinct Beat Cops remaining, all others destroyed, 8 Rounds.
ROUND 1: Manhunter flies in, as the Beat Cops move in to set up a perimeter. The Gorillas advance. Connor walks up and fires, but misses.
ROUND 2: A Cop moves ahead and fires, killing a Gorilla. The Gorillas move in and take him out. Black Canary screams, killing a Gorilla but dealing two wounds to Connor. Robin flies in and kills the other Gorilla. The last one runs up and finishes off Connor. Black Canary screams at Manhunter, doing no damage. Robin finishes off the Gorilla. Jean moves in, pulling a Gorilla forward.
ROUND 3: Canary gives another shout, but does no damage. Robin comes in and kills a Gorilla. The Gorillas swarm him, killing him with one attack. Canary attacks again, killing a Gorilla with her scream and dealing two wounds to Jean. Jean moves in and blasts Canary, dealing three wounds. The Cops move in to help, killing Jean and a Gorilla. The Gorillas advance, knocking a Cop back one space.
ROUND 4: Manhunter finishes off Black Canary. Green Arrow comes up and kills a Gorilla. The Gorillas attack him, but a Cop takes the wound. The Gorillas SURROUND Green Arrow, but deal no damage and just knock him back!! They kill a Cop instead. The Cops return, killing a Gorilla.
ROUND 5: The Gorillas move in on Green Arrow, killing him. The Cops fire on them, killing one. The Gorilla comes back but can’t avenge his fallen comrade. The Cops kill him and deal two wounds to Manhunter. Manhunter kills the Cop.
ROUND 6: Manhunter kites around killing Cops as they close in to attack him. The Gorillas advance.
ROUND 7: The Cops deal a wound to Manhunter. He flies up and kills one. However, the Cops turn things around and finish him off instead. The Gorillas move in, but whiff on their attack.
ROUND 8: The Gorillas put up a good fight, but against the Cops on height they have no chance.
FINAL THOUGHTS: 125 seems about perfect. Against heroes they can more than earn their money back, but when squads come in to tear them up from range... they’re mincemeat. So, I think we're good!
