Re: The Book of Gorilla City Warriors (Playtest Phase)

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Gorilla City Warriors

- THEME TEST
/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
PASS (If they didn’t I’d have mentioned it by now! )

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
PASS

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
PASS

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
PASS

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
PASS

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
PASS

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
PASS

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
PASS

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
PASS

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
PASS (Particularly with Knockback, when you need to position th Gorillas in a way to get as many attacks as possible out of a turn.)

Army Test
- Does it pass
, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 125 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. Perfect! A little more conservative play from either side could have turned the tide, but it was super close up until the end. The Warriors are a force to be reckoned with, and good strategy can really put the hurt on high-level heroes.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x3, Gorilla Grodd (600 Points) vs. Green Lantern: Hal Jordan, Flash (600 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass
, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 125-135 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. Wow, these guys are Lantern-killing machines! Arkillo got a bad roll early on, leaving the Soldiers with an army of Apes to face down; the Gorillas could easily deal some damage and/or force a burn with each turn, so it was really a matter of time, and the Soldiers did not have enough time to fight the tide off. They felt above-average here, but not by TOO much... the Sinestro Corps could have done better if they kept further away.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x5, Gorilla Grodd (975 Points) vs. Arkillo, Sinestro Corps Warrior x6 (970 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass
, Yes or No? YES!
- What should be the unit's point value? 115-125 POINTS
- Give a brief summary. In an army against ranged figures without any Simians to help them, it was a washout. They’re great hero-killers (smashing both Green Arrows and Robin with ease), but less efficient against squads, which seems like a fair match to me.
Map: Swamp Lab
Units: Gorilla City Warriors x4, Martian Manhunter, Jean Grey (980 Points) vs. Black Canary, Green Arrow: Oliver Queen, Green Arrow: Connor Hawke, Robin: Tim Drake, 5th Precinct Beat Cops x6 (980 Points)
Spoiler Alert!

FINAL THOUGHTS: 125 seems about perfect. Against heroes they can more than earn their money back, but when squads come in to tear them up from range... they’re mincemeat. So, I think we're good!
