Re: Super Bogue's Customs
I went completely nuts when Miniatures Market put all the Confrontation figures on clearance. So far I have spent about $400 on Confrontation figures and I planning on spending another $100 soon. Once I am done purchasing I plan on create a custom faction for each of the five armies. I have finished the army for the Lions of Lahnars. Here are the custom cards for those figures.
First the squads.
Lion Guards
Spoiler Alert!
With Captain Bonding the Lion Guards bond with Agonn, Agent of the Chimera, Water Elemental, and Raelin from Swarm of Marro. I think their best option is Agonn since him gives them both a defensive and a movement bonus. I also gave them Melee Defense 1 instead of a Defense of 4 to help keep their cost down. I have 3 and half squads of these guys.
Lion Longbowmen
Spoiler Alert!
In general I really don't like four man common range squads. I think they hurt the balance of the game. But with the Lion Army box you get 8 of these guys, so two squads of four is the easiest option. I hope that the Longbow special power is understandable. Basically if it adds to their range if they would have a height advantage on a target, but the problem is that it goes against the basic mechanics of the game. Players need to figure out range before things like a height advantage is consider. I put them at 65 points, because I don't think they are quite as good as the Mass 4th.
Lion Bannermen
Lion Paladins
Spoiler Alert!
The Lion Paladins are the core unit of the Lion faction. The best heroes bond with this squad. Also with their Scared Weapons they can really put a beat down on the bad guys' units.
Lion Knights
Now the heroes.
Agent of the Chimera
Spoiler Alert!
The Agent of the Chimera is an interesting unit because he is a common and he grants the Lion Guards the affects of Scared Weapons. There are two figures one with gray hair and another with brown hair.
Agonn the Ardent
Spoiler Alert!
Agonn is a cheap hero with an odd power. His Fiery Shield protects himself and adjacent common figure against special attacks and special powers that require a roll of the 20-sided die. So he is completely protected against powers like Mind Shackle and Sharpshooter. Also he undoes the benefit of Zelrig's Majestic Fire Special Attack.
Danil the Valiant
Spoiler Alert!
He is the best of the commoner paladins. Goodness gives him a second chance to get Lay on Hands to work. Sterness makes his attacks extra effective. I love his scuplt.
Kelgar, Baron of Kallenne
Spoiler Alert!
A paladin with a battleaxe?!?! Awesome!! Harckan helps him make the most of his 5 attack dice. Also Kelgar is a note strategist.
Laureena, Baroness of Manilia
Spoiler Alert!
Laureena's Sword of Lyr gives her the benefits of Agonn's Fiery Shield and she has Counter Strike. Good luck taking her down with melee attacks.
Valendar, Lord of Paladins and Baron of Doriman
Spoiler Alert!
You will want to have some General dice for Valdenar. He has Deadly Strike and Enchanted Shield-like powers if he rolls a general symbol. You could use normal combat dice. You will never be so excited to roll blanks!
Red Lioness
Spoiler Alert!
The Red Lioness is actually Laureena on horseback. She has a Protection from Evil Aura that benefits Large figures too.
Caelia
Spoiler Alert!
Caelia is a difficult character to develop powers for because according to the Lion Army book she does about four different things. She is an expert archer and ranger. She is an accomplished mage with the elements of Light and Fire. Her lover is also a dragon. With Perforating Shot I decided that also giving her a special attack would just be too much, so I had to neglect her mage aspect.
Misan
Meliador
Sardar
The Chimera
Hi-res pdfs for the Paladins, Guards, Mages, Archers, and Knights.
