The Book of Omegacron

The Book of Omegacron

C3V Wave 1 - Thormun's Reprieve - Heroes of Vasel's Vigil

The figure used for this unit is a Mechwarrior figure from the Vanguard set. Its model number and name is MAR-2C3-A 'Vindication' Marauder IIC #084. All figures in the Mechwarrior line containing the name "Marauder IIC" have an identical sculpt.

Character Bio:
Spoiler Alert!

DOUBLE ATTACK
When Omegacron attacks, he may attack one additional time.

OMNICRON MOBILIZATION
Instead of moving with Omegacron, you may move up to 3 other Soulborg figures you control who follow Jandar up to 5 spaces each.

DIRECTED FIRE
Instead of attacking with Omegacron this turn, you may choose up to 3 unengaged Soulborg Squad figures you control who follow Jandar. Take a single turn with the chosen figures, during which the chosen figures may only attack. Omegacron must also have line of sight to any figure attacked using Directed Fire.

-Rulings and Clarifications-
Q. Is Omegacron a single-spaced or a double-spaced figure?
A. Omegacron is a double-spaced figure.

Q. If I move Omnicron Repulsors with Omnicron Mobilization, do I then roll for Circuitry Overload?
A. No. Circuitry Overload occurs during an Omnicron Repulsor turn. It is not the Repulsors' turn during Omnicron Mobilization, so Circuitry overload is not triggered by Omnicron Mobilization.

Q. If I attack with Omnicron Repulsors using Directed Fire, do I first roll for Circuitry Overload?
A. No. The turn taken during Directed Fire is limited to attacking. Circuitry Overload occurs "after moving and before attacking," so it is not triggered by Directed Fire.

Q. If an attack from a squad figure activated using Directed Fire triggers Scurry or Smoke Powder 13, do the effects of that power remain in effect during subsequent Directed Fire Attacks?
A. Yes. The figures activated by Directed Fire are taking a single turn, so the hitzone-removing effects of those powers apply for that entire turn.

Q. If I attack an opposing Omnicron Repulsor using Directed Fire, and that repulsor successfully defends and rolls a 14 or greater for EMP response, do I remove Order Markers from Omegacron's card?
A. No. It is the turn of the attacking squad figures, not of Omegacron. That turn immediately ends (there can be no further attacks with Directed Fire) and you must remove any order markers from the card (or cards) of the attacking squad figure.

Q. Can you roll for Thanos's Rejected By Death power before using Directed Fire?
A. Yes. The figures activated by Directed Fire are taking a turn, so you may roll for Rejected By Death once before you take that turn with those figures.

Power Ranking and Master Index
Much like Spartacus, he takes a bunch of points off the top of your army. But in high point games, the 'cronroller can be devastating. B+

Looks like a great unit. Would love to see a cowboy hero that had posse abilities for the cowboys similar to Omegacron's mobilization and directed fire abilities.

How's this guy do with just Repulsors? He's got quite a bit of firepower by himself, and points go a lot further buying Repulsors than Snipers. I can imagine against quite a few armies he'd work well sitting on height, spamming the enemy with Repulsors, and firing away with 2 attacks of 5 per turn (3+1 for height +1 for Repulsors)

Yes he does do pretty good with just repulsors, he's a pretty good Commander ;).

You'd better have some other attacking force though, because if he goes down, you don't want to have to finish off the opponent with just Repulsors. Maybe...

180/2 Omegacron
160/12 Repulsors x4
185/2 Nilfheim
525/16

...Would work well.

Yeah, I didn't mean just Omegacron and Repulsors, but more Omegacron and Repulsors without Snipers working as part of an army.

Good job on version 3 of this card. I like how this design turned out.

Those pictures in the bottom of the OP are nice. ;)

Re: The Book of Omegacron

Does he fit on a small peanut base (like calvary) or does he need a large one (like huge dragons)?

Re: The Book of Omegacron

Narrow is fine. There's a tiny bit of toe overhang but nothing too serious. He's on a narrow peanut in the photo at the bottom of the first post.

Omegacron is articulated : after moving, can we turn him to change the line of sight ?
