Cleon's Maps: 3 New Maps! (Vanguard, Sabertooth, Gem)
 

This thread is focusing on maps involving strictly tournament play. Each map is 1v1 with 24 space start zones. Most of the maps require glyphs (whether random or static) which are highly recommended to be included when playing. Same goes for the notion of Normal or Heavy/Slippery with Snow or Ice terrain. Treasure Glyphs will be denoted by the Glyph of Brandar.

Very nice map ! It has some similarities with Turret Rock, a classic of the BoV, but it looks a little smaller, with more changes in levels.

I don't really know what I was thinking with the first picture I posted haha, it really doesn't do the map justice. I just uploaded two more pictures of each side to better show the map.

Turret Rocks is a pretty cool map aesthetically and was a fun map to play on way back in the day with friends, but it's a pretty terrible map for competitive play. Literally the definition of Dragon perches. If one player has Dragons or AE or Protectors and the other player has little to no range, that's a free win.

Several of the early BoV maps aren't very good tournament maps honestly; that was back before the metagame and understanding of melee balance developed.

Home for the summer, gonna start posting more maps soon once I get some free time from work. I also need to post the building instructions for Mountainside (need to figure out how to do that).

I have many maps done though, so I should be pumping out new stuff frequently. Just need to figure out how to upload them to the downloads section and I should be golden.

We're running another map building contest here and trying to get as many people involved as possible. Would love to see you submit some awesome maps (you're allowed up to 2 submissions). And the themed dice bowl for the winner (made by TREX) is no joke one of the best I've ever seen. He does amazing work and whoever gets that gem will be coveted at every tourney they go to. He'll be posting pics soon.

I'm glad to see people still making old school maps. I feel like the definitive single RotV map has yet to be made.

I agree, the first page of BoV is really hit or miss.

Bringing this thread back......sorry for my hiatus. Need someone to finally show me how to get maps up on this site though (also I gotta use something other than Photobucket), I'm not very adept at these sort of things haha.

I have like 10+ tournament maps done and ready to go that I'm stoked about. So if someone cares to help me or walk me through getting them up, you will be forever appreciated and the brownie points will be astronomical. 8) 8) 8)

Once you have the PDF with the build instructions ready, and a map image ready (make sure it's not a .bmp image file because the site won't display it properly) follow these steps:

At the top of the page click "Downloads".
Right under the navigation bar, click "Add".
Fill out the Name, who the author was, the Description etc.
Once you have filled all that out, under the description feild, set the category to "Battlefeilds".
Under the category selection, click the "Browse" button.
Find the PDF file for your map on your computer, and click "Open".
Then, after all of that is done, at the bottom of the page, click "Add File".

Once you have your file uploaded to can add an image to it.
While looking at the download page for your newly uploaded map PDF file, find and click the "Browse" button towards the bottom of the page.
Find the map image that corresponds with the PDF you uploaded, and click "Open".
Then click "Add Image".

Taduh. You have now uploaded, and setup a map for download to this site. You can copy the URL and post it in this thread to attract attention to it. The Map image will give interested parties something to look at, and to help them decide it they like the map. You can also post the image in this thread to help attract attention to it.

I've been using this site to post things on the fourms. All the photobucket pictures come up for me and its frustrating.
