The Book of Warden 816
Fields of Valor - Collection 7 - "Heroes of Elswin" If you cannot see the Army Card graphic, check Hasbro's Unit Page for stats and special powers, plus "character biography" and other non-game unit info. Character Bio:The Soulborgs are a race of living machines programmed to conquer and take over territory. Fast becoming one of the deadliest killers in Utgar’s army, Warden 816 is unique in his skills and leadership ability. Without emotion, he directs troops into battle. Expecting those he commands to obey his every order, the Soulborg leader is infamous for driving his armies into combat with unusual speed. Their momentum comes more from fear of Warden 816 than from a desire to fight. Armed with the massively powerful Evisceraxe, Warden 816 terrifies nearby enemies, annihilating them with the force of his weapon. Unit Strategy Review Unit Strategy Review: Warden 816 |
This guy will help the Zettians see more play time. He's got a high defense/low life stat. Just like Brunak. And he's got a deadly adjacent attack, just like Agent Carr. He also boosts Obsidion Guards and Blastatrons. Overall, he seems like a cool figure.
|
One of my favorite guys this time around. Finally, a use for the Obsidians!

090 Warden
140 DW9K 070 Zettians = 300 points. Pretty cool. Throw in 2x Blasts and 1x Glads and you've got 500 points of soulborgs, featuring guards. |
I think this guy is the weakest of the Wave 7 bunch. For 90 points, I'd have to pass on him. 6 defense but only 2 life does not a good 90 point hero make. I can see him dropping with one hit, even a modest one.

His sculpt and paint job are real good but he deosn't really have a cool factor or fluff beyond that |
The thing about him is, his "Moving" affect can be applied when he's sitting in your starting zone, making him a very good last guy standing clean up figure. He has 7 range and a base three attack, and a possible of five attack. And with six defense he can last long once the heavy hitters are gone.
|
I see him being used as a "hide behind this wall" cheerleader like Khosumet with the wolves... Except that once he decides to join the battle, he can actually cause some damage before bowing out.
I'm excited that the Zets get dusted off finally. At 5 move, they're not half-bad now! The Dumatef at 7 move may also be worth his salt... At 90 points, the Warden will have to be carefully played, but I see him making a big impact on properly themed armies. Of course, he just begs to have Raelin snuggled up next to him. :) |
He is a little cheap for 90 points and feels like more of a finisher for a Blastatron/Gladiatron army.
The big problem he has is actually Laglor since the primate adds 2 to the Blastatrons range which is probably better then the movement enhancement. |

If you have to have a theme army he fits, but otherwise you are right. Laglor all the way. |
Another thing to note is, the rats are immune to his special attack, so you could clog him up pretty easilt with a cluster of mechanical mice.

My :2cents:
Warden 816: Living proof Heroscape needs more guards. Good stats, but needs an extra life point. Average figure. A- |
