Its model number and name are #052-054 / Cyborg. Character Bio - “Victor Stone is the son of Silas and Elinore Stone, a pair of scientists who decide to use him as a test subject for various intelligence enhancement projects. However, while these treatments work and Victor's IQ grows to genius-levels, he begins to resent this treatment and strikes up a friendship with Ron Evers, a young miscreant who leads him into trouble with the law. This is the beginning of a struggle where Victor strives for his own life engaging in pursuits of which his parents disapprove, such as athletics […] When he visits his parents at work at S.T.A.R. Labs, an experiment in dimensional travel goes horribly wrong when a massive gelatinous monster crosses over an experimental portal and kills Elinore. The creature then turns on Victor and severely mutilates him before Silas manages to force the creature back through the portal. To save his son, Silas outfits him with experimental prosthetics of his own design. However, the equipment cannot be worn inconspicuously, and thus Victor is horrified to see much of his body, including part of his face, replaced with sheer metallic limbs and implants. Although Victor wants to die at this shock, he eventually adjusts enough through his resulting physical therapy to control his implants with suitable skill. However, upon release from medical care, he finds his life is seriously inconvenienced with the fearful reactions of the public at his implants. Even his girlfriend Marcy Reynolds rejects him. In addition, he is also disallowed participation in athletics not only for his implants, but also for his poor grades, which are the result of inattention prior to his accident (rather than a lack of sufficient knowledge) and further exacerbated by his long convalescence […]Victor joins the Teen Titans, initially for the benefit of a support group of kindred spirits and outsiders, and has remained with that group ever since. In addition, Victor finds new friends who see past his disfigurements to his own nobility, such as a group of children who are adjusting to their own prosthetics and idolize Victor with his fancy parts and exciting adventures […] Vic mentored the new incarnation of the Teen Titans, consisting mainly of sidekicks, most of whom have taken over the identities of former members (i.e. Tim Drake, the third Robin, instead of Dick Grayson, the original Robin and Titans leader), as well as stalwarts such as Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy, where they have fought enemies such as Deathstroke, Brother Blood, Doctor Light, The Titans Tomorrow, and a brainwashed Superboy and Indigo […] in the end, Cyborg was the only one capable of standing up to Dr. Light, thanks to his solar shields, although he makes it clear that he only won the fight because the rest of the Titans had softened Light up first,” (Wikipedia.org, 2012). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Design looks good, I have nothing to add at this point. |
Re: The Book of Cyborg - Design Phase
Yeah, I originally had it without the clear sight restriction since it's technologically based, but I figured this would make it a bit clearer that Cyborg and all the other figures still had to be on the battlefield!

Yeah, but what about if Cyborg isn't on the battlefield?

I like the design. Straight forward and cool with the healing and the initiative help for his Titan teammates. Like the twist to the sonic powers for sure. It will maybe scare the opponent from clustering "just in case" he hits for 5+ skulls. Then again, the player controlling him will cringe when only 1 or 2 skulls is rolled and the opposing player laughs, "Is that all you got?" |
Re: The Book of Cyborg - Design Phase
Yeah, I'm really interested how that cannon will play! It has the potential to send 7 skulls into a huge cluster of enemies, but I figure it'll be pretty rare to roll 7 skulls on 7 dice twice in a row!
Good call on the wording - I'll put a note in the SP to update that after the breathing period. :-) |
Re: The Book of Cyborg - Design Phase
Yeah, it will be interesting to see how that plays out, as even 5 skulls can be nasty into a big crowd, especially if some of them have special defenses that are bypassed by special attacks. It will be neat to see how much respect opponents give that cannon. Maybe you can sandbag somehow and roll 1 or 2 skulls early vs. a single figure and then later when the opponent isn't worried about it and gets a cluster of figures together, you can unleash the big attack of 5+ dice. :D

Re: The Book of Cyborg - Design Phase
Looks good bats.
Now we need a way to combine Cyborg's & Robin's attack so they can make the "Sonic Boom" like in the cartoon ;). "I got the sonic if you got the boom!" |
Re: The Book of Cyborg - Design Phase
TITAN TACTICAL NETWORK
When rolling for initiative, you may add 1 to your initiative roll for each Titan or Sidekick figure you control in clear sight of Cyborg. Not only does this power make me want to yawn, but it also feels forced onto the card in the hopes of forcing some "Titan Synergy" when none would exist otherwise. I think the power needs to be either scrapped, made more interesting, or altered into something different entirely. |
