Character Bio - Rocket Raccoon from Earth-18197 was a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, that, just like him, were bonded to the Venom Symbiote. However, they were all assimilated and he was forced to kill Poison Groot. He then became a bounty hunter, attempting to collect a contract to kill his world's Captain America, when he was suddenly summoned to another reality to join a Resistance of Venoms to fight The Hive, a group of interdimensional Poisons.

Venom Rocket quickly became the tech expert on the team, crafting numerous bombs to aid escapes from Poison attacks, as well as several mines to try and take out Poisons on patrol.

NAME = VENOM
IDENTIY = ROCKET RACCOON (Crossover)

SPECIES = SYMBIOTE
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = HUNTER
PERSONALITY = FEARLESS

SIZE/HEIGHT = SMALL 3

LIFE = 6

MOVE = 6
RANGE = 3
ATTACK = 2
DEFENSE = 5

POINTS = 210

TACTICAL TINKERER
Anytime Venom may move during your player turn, you may instead roll 3 combat dice. For each skull rolled, place a black Scrap Marker on this card, up to a maximum of 3. For each Scrap Marker on this card, add 1 to Venom's Range and Attack numbers.

COME TO COLLECT
Before Venom attacks, you may remove one Scrap Marker from this card to add one automatic skull to whatever is rolled. After Venom destroys a Unique or Event Hero with his normal attack, you may place a previously removed Scrap Marker on this card and attack again.

SYMBIOTE SALVO
After Venom rolls defense dice, you may remove any number of Scrap Markers from this card. For each Scrap Marker removed, you may either:
• place Venom on any empty space within 3 spaces of his current location that is no more than 40 levels up or down, ignoring any leaving engagement attacks.
• roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 15 or higher, the attacking figure and each figure within 1 space of the attacking figure receive 1 wound.

I think you can drop the opponent's limitation on the Come to Collect power now that it's limited to Heroes. Rocket, especially while bonded with Venom, seems like the type who might finish a teammate off if it benefited him at the time.

Really like the combination of powers you have here though.

So who do you want moving him around not on his turn? This also gets into that thorny place vs. move discussion. If Groot carries him around, does that trigger the rolling of 3 dice?

Makes sense. Also should include the qualifier that it's from a normal attack, as the bonus attack bit wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Star-Lord, primarily. Groot wouldn't be bad, but if he is placed, he wouldn't be able to roll unless he gives up that placement, so it'd still be an option. Also wouldn't be surprised to see some potential future Symbiote/Venom synergy movement power he may be able to benefit from.

Each weaponry marker adds 1 to attack/range and he can remove a weaponry marker before attacking for an auto-skull. So if you choose to remove a marker for the auto Skull, you don’t get the +1 attack from the marker for that attack, right?

Come To Collect having the “previously removed marker” language seems off when the first power has the “up to a max of 3” language. I’d use the same wording for both.

Seems like he'll be pretty juiced with the Guardians. Star Lord will offer him 3 opportunities to move on his turn, he can trade off one of those for potential auto-wounds if you're running Gamora, and you're likely to get a turn with Nebula in the setup as well when Star Lord inevitably fails to wound anyone. He will certainly be the cost driver there as I don't think anyone else offers that many potential moves in a turn.

That's very quick to get him to a 6/7/6/6 stat spread, counting Star-Lord's bonus.

It triggering on Carry is pretty cheesy, but don't see any easy way around it.

Him with Star Lord definitely looks scary, like LV said.

Otherwise I really dig it. The markers seem to be very kinetic, and I like all the choices.

Little theme question, where is the Venom influence here? I know your last ability is called Symbiote Salvo. It that a reference to something? I've never read the story, basically this feels like it's just a Rocket V3 than anything Venom related, but if it's thematic, it's thematic!

He's a lot more Rocket than Venom, in-story. The symbiote does seem to provide him with some hammerspace for weapons, which I feel like the write-up gets at. Otherwise he kinda just feels like tougher-than-normal Rocket, in my experience.

That's the intention, yes. You're trading for an auto-skull.

I feel that's a reasonable spread at full power(which assumes you're sacrificing movement and other uses of the markers) + Star-Lord, compared to other Venoms? Wouldn't be opposed to dropping base range a tad.

:word: The Venom bits are the higher life, increased arsenal capacity(represented by the changing range, attack, auto-skull and bombs) as well as the defensive option to essentially Clamber/Swing away. May feel like a fairly light touch, but it's on-theme with how he is portrayed.

As for the name and theme of the last power. Symbiote Salvo is meant to portray his often usage of bombs to escape when being attacked. He's seen building bombs throughout the arc, and when **** hits the fan, he tosses it at the attacker as he swings away.
