’Scaper of the Month
lonewolf
Author: The Grim Reaper’s Friend

To be honest I have nothing to say here. I had never encountered lonewolf on the site, so I’ll let his interview speak for him.

Map Craft
Pathing
By: BiggaBullfrog

You may be thinking, I hear “pathing” all the time, but what does it really have to do with map-making? And why does autocorrect keep changing it to bathing? First off, it’s because “pathing” isn’t a real word and “bathing” is. I believe pathing was first “officially” coined by mad_wookiee in his article about it in his Cartographer’s Toolbox (an awesome resource for any mapmaker, go check it out). Pathing is essentially the use of paths in a map to get from point A to B. Today, we’ll be looking at how you can use that to enhance your map.

Why Is Pathing Important?

Really, paths are crucial to a map. They connect start zones to height, to glyphs, and to each other. Maps with simple pathing will have a straightforward route for armies to follow where they will then meet in the middle

Scaper of the Month
skyknight
Author: The Grim Reaper’s Friend

Going into this interview, all I knew about skyknight was that he had a slightly disturbing avatar. After talking to him though, I was deeply impressed with who he is, what he’s done, and the contributions he’s made to HeroScape. After reading his interview, I think you will be too.

ARV Contest Review
Uncharted Wellsprings
By: Sir Heroscape

Hey all, this month is our second installment of our contest reviews! This time we’ll be discussing the maps we saw submitted in our Uncharted Wellsprings map building contest.

Contest Overview:

The Uncharted Wellsprings contest was one of our favorites! We kept all the terrain and map building parameters the same except for the fact that the map submissions had to have a designated wellspring indicated by a power-side-up power glyph. We were excited about the prospect of each map submission having to balance their design with a specific power glyph as well as the inclusion of a wellspring, and we were surprised by just how many different designs were submitted.

Submissions:

This contest was one of our most popular, with a whopping

C3G Interview - November 2017

Posted November 28th, 2017 at 04:00 AM by HS Codex

C3G Interview
IAmBatman
Author: LordEsenwienIV

Time to step into the Wayback Machine once again with a classic interview from Bats, a.k.a. IamBatman, Father of C3G (a title I just decided to bestow, although I have no power to do so). This interview originally aired February 14, 2011.

What made you decide to create C3G, and who else was there at the beginning with you?

Garada popped over too. Then Balantai and Matt Helm, who both insisted on taking less involved roles. Then Necroblade jumped in at the last moment and gave us some sad puppy dog eyes, so we let him come aboard too. Later Garada was abducted by his libido and Markb
