Keep cool this summer with Purplebeard's Winter War. He did not make a thread featuring this map, although I would really like it if he did. It's very hot here in Indiana right now.

In Other News.

Last month I was asked to make an announcement congratulating
Elginb on joining the Soldiers of Valhalla project as a judge. I really dropped the ball on that one, but I still feel like I owe him, so congratulations to Elginb on being admitted to the SoV!

Maybe it's the heat, but something has caused an explosion in creative new terrain on Heroscapers. Be sure to head over to the Custom Terrain and Obstacles section to see what our busy Heroscapers have cooked up. This week's image is brought to us by Just a Bill, featuring his very official looking Jungle Ruins. You can see more images of the Ruins and their uses in his thread.

For this week's Map of the Week we are featuring another oldie, Ch1can0's Earth. This map was originally created for the World's of Heroscape project. Be sure to visit the other world's of Heroscape at Ch1can0's thread. Maybe this will inspire some of you cartographers out there to create your own worlds. Heroscape Eberron anybody?

Filthy the Clown brings us one of the most amazing customs to grace this site in months with his LED light up Greater Ice Elemental. I love the uniqueness of the custom and the sheer creativity that was put into the unit. He even included step by step instructions for creating your own. Additional images and the instructions can be found here.

Custom of the week.

This is the second time that we have featured Dok's Zombie Hulk as our as our custom of the week, and there is good reason. The Zombie Hulk is the first unit to be accepted by the Soldier's of Valhalla!

The ingenuity and talent that this community displays never ceases to amaze me. I wish that I had half of the talent that some of the custom makers that we featured here. The first custom, and our image of the week, is Orion's Birch Trees. It's incredible how something so simple can just bring a battlefield to life like never before. Check out more images of the trees, and Orion's other customs in his thread.

Well we're back and ready to show you the largest map available for download. No, I am not talking about Dr. Weirdscaper's massive maps. I am talking about Eckels' Heaven and Hell! It's approximately 3' wide, and just over 6' tall. It's truly gigantic, and it uses some creative structure to make it work, but it will stand strong if built. It uses 38 Rise of the Valkyries, 30 Road ...
