Ormus, known for gargantuan maps that mix tons of terrain with awesome custom pieces, is back with even more excellent custom creations. This piece is the combination of three separate parts. The two rune engraved structures and one ruined statue can be used together or separately, and are simply stunning. You can see the rest of Ormus's work here.
MAP
The BOV has long been a stage for the very best of the best when it comes to map making. Dozens of cartographers submit their maps into the judging process, but nearly all are defeated. This makes it a real acomplishment when a map is accepted. So congratulations to Mooseman on his accepted map, Elswin Plateu! It will no doubt be seen on gaming tables all across the land now.
BLOG
When we were young, many of us played with toy cars. Matchbox and Hotwheels were staples of toyboxes for years, and still are. But can they also be staples of a heroscape battle? Quozl spculates on the possibility of mixing scape and the game Car Wars to create CarWarsScape. While the idea is very preliminary now, with a little team effort the concept could really take off.
WEEK IN REVIEW
Scapers across the country are busy proxying the new D1 units is anxious preparation for the release next week. Being the genre's first wave release, scapers are relying on these figures to tell whether the game is going in the right direction. Skeptics of the D&Dscape, such as the BIV and Clancambell, have been heard across the boards, and now it is time for D&Dscape to deliver. Major concerns include: Figure sizes, loss of Sci-Fi and Historical genres, and general concern over figure quality.
Once the new wave comes out, if you choose to buy it, we ask that you consider shopping at one of the Site sponsors: Housemouse Games, Wargamer's Headquarters, Cool Stuff Inc., Chaos Media Games, Troll And Toad, or Miniature Market. Most of these sites have also been offering pre-orders for sometime now. Support the sites that support this site!

Great job everyone! Just a note, Mooseman's map is titled Elswin Plateau, not Elswin Plateu.

Nice map, I know what I'm going to be testing my D1 on
I don't think I've ever seen an almost perfectly rectangular map on the BoV before. |

When I was young, my heart was an open book. But that's just me!

Seems like it is guaranteed to get that figure in the first picture now.

PHippo: Marr Highway
iceman: That figure is the custom creation of Ormus and is in no way, shape, or form endorsed as an official heroscape figure. While it is is a possibility that we will use that figure for a heroscape release at some point in time, it is not 100% likely. Nor is it certain that such a figure will be released in the next wave. |

When I was young, my heart was an open book. [/QUOTE] Did you used to say "Live and let live"? You know you did... you know you did ...you know you did. |

Actually, that hobgoblin is a future D2 release. That figure was hidden in the D1 preview updates.

Yes but being in a picture with a random member's custom terrain has absolutely no bearing on that.

So no power creep with the D1 release? I've already made my pre-order from cool stuff inc. and I love the D&D expansion but my game group keep buzzing me about the overwhelming power of the new D&D MS and D1 wave. So is there power creep? I need some strong arguments to persuade them sorry if this is the wrong place to bring this up...
