This is a battle summary for the game Heroes of ‘Scape. Keep in mind these pictures were not taken during the time of the battle. The map was recreated (from what I could remember), but had to be compressed and dulled down a bit do to limited space. The original map was much more impressive.

Battle 2: Assault on the Elfin Base

The small band of Heroes has been plotting their revenge on the Elfin Base for their recent ambush. The Heroes have managed to gather some recruitment to help them lay siege to the Elfin base.

The group as a whole consists of a Dragonborn Paladin, a Dwarf Rogue, an Elf Cleric, a Human Fighter, a Warforged Warrior, a Dwarf Warrior, a Samurai Archer, and a Mind Flayer Psionicist. Ahead of them lies the Elfin base.

But before they can get to the base they have to deal with the deadly Vipers and a Dragon.

Before the Heroes even get a chance to move out of their start zone the Viper’s scouts frenzy their way to the Heroes and make a preemptive strike.

After eliminating the Venocs, the Heroes advance and begin the skirmish against the Viper army.

The Vipers hold up for about a round, but the eight Heroes are just too much. Not much farther down the road Charos the green dragon, accompanied by a squad of Greenscale Warriors, is waiting for the Heroes. Charos and the Lizardfolk make a bit of a mess of the Heroes, especially for those not expecting Charos to retaliate their feeble attack with a coutnerstrike.

Eventually the Heroes break take down the Dragon and his loyal warriors and continue down the north path. Sharwin Wildborne (who’s pretending to be an Elf) tries to get the jump on the Heroes and Arcane Bolts the unsuspecting group, who happened to line up nicely for her on the road… but she whiffs on the first roll and is soon dispatched by the Human Fighter in the midst of an Barbarian Rage. Sonlen holds the Heroes down, while Brandis closes in on their location.

Eventually Sonlen is taken down, but enough wounds had been placed on the Elf Wizard, that Syvarris #1 picks her off from behind the wall. Without the main healer, only the Dragonborn Paladin is left to do the healing for the remaining seven Heroes. Before Brandis can cause any trouble, the Samurai Archer and the Mindflayer take to the top of the hill, and with the Rogue’s help, destroy him quickly.

The melee fighters engage the Warrior of Ashra on the hill, but they underestimated what the plus one defense from height advantage would do for their Defensive Agility, and are held down at the hill for a while. While the stalemate goes on for about two rounds, the Samurai Archer is trying to take down the Warriors of Ashra, while the Psionicist uses Mind Blast Special Attack to wound Ulginesh.

Eventually the defense is broken through, and what’s worse is Ulginesh is taken down. Without Mindlink, the Wizards are far less useful and are quickly overrun by the Hero assaulters. To make things worse for the Elves, the Samurai Archer hops onto the Northern archer tower after the Aubrien Archer was destroyed.

While all of this was happening however, Syvarris #2 was sneaking up onto the Southern archer tower, and by the time only Arkmer and Emirroon is left, Syvarris is at the top and immediately destroys the Dwarf Rogue. The Mindflayer also soon falls prey to Syarris’ five dice Double Attack sniping.

Before Syvarris can injure anyone else, the Dragonborn Paladin charges the ladder and takes him out. Theracus is destroyed shortly after.

Overall, the attack was a success and the Elves had learned their lesson, and with only 3 casualites.

For those who are interested, here were the powers the Heroes had (I allowed them to level up mid battle).
Spoiler Alert!

In Battle 3 we see a new group of Heroes hit the table. And this time I actually took pictures while we were playing, so the maps are much prettier looking!

The "small band of Heroes" is referring to the four Heroes in Battle 1.
