We are deep into our big game now, perhaps fifty turns have past- we’ve lost count. There are no more small battles. There are 800 point armies wandering around the map and battles of 500 points versus the same are commonplace.

Last night the Roman/Orc alliance battled the Kingdom of Arc at sea, just off the coast of Arc. Previously a Roman navy had engaged an Arc flotilla and Arc had won a tactical victory. The Romans had used small fire ships fronting a few small ballista boats and set fire to the large Arc ship. But the Arckens has been able to retreat before their burning ship sank, and they had captured a few of the small Roman ships as well, which are redeemable for points. The Roman Navy- victorious- lost 200 points while the retreating Arckens ended only down 40 points- a tactical victory for Arc.

But the Orcs, ever critical of Rome, had sent a small army to help and it arrived last night, just 250 points to add to the surviving...
