Dragon Superiority

Some ideas recently popped into my head to make Dragons an even more dominant part of Heroscape.

Non-Dragon fans need not apply.

These are a couple of new special abilities for dragons to bring them all up to par with Nilfheim and Braxas.

Charos.:
Dragon's Presence
After moving and before attacking, you may roll the D20 once for each opponent who controls a figure adjacent to Charos. Each opponent who has a figure adjacent to Charos also rolls the D20. If you roll higher than an opponent, that opponent's figures who are adjacent to Charos each receive a wound. You win all ties. If you roll a 20, all opponents' figures within two clear sight spaces receive a wound.

Zelrig.:

Evasive 3
When Zelrig rolls defensive dice against an attacking figure who is not adjacent, add 3 defense dice to Zelrig.

Mimring.:

High Flying
If Mimring takes a turn and...

Round-up Post

Posted August 25th, 2009 at 04:26 PM by NamibianScaper
There are now well over 300 comments on Truth's latest blog of the big news coming out of GenCon '09.

My comment, buried on page 10, I thought was worth posting here, as well as a comment by GrungeBob that most people probably missed.

Here's mine:
Quote:
My biggest fear about [D&D MS3] coincides with my biggest complaint in all of fantasy/rpg: scantily clad females.

Lots of guys love 'em. I hate 'em. They're inappropriate for my daughters, insult my wife, and won't help my son from becoming perverted.

One of the coolest things about Heroscape, thus far, has been the modest dress of the female characters. Kyntela Gwyn is, I think, the closest it gets to anything inappropriate and she's not really close.

I can't tell yet if that female character in this boxed set is 'scantily glad' or not, but I pray not, I really really hope not. D&D artwork I've seen overall is infested with it. Magic the Gathering eventually became

A Pinball in God's Machine

Posted July 28th, 2009 at 02:46 PM by NamibianScaper
Well I've been offline (off Heroscapers) bouncing around the world like a Pinball in God's giant Pinball Machine the past couple months.

I didn't get to comment on the last couple releases on their threads.

I'm also not shopping for any new stuff at the moment, though I do hope to be back at home in Africa where all our stuff is soon.

Today I got to see my first Wave 9's in person. It will probably be 2011 before I get to releasing them for the family and reviewing them on this blog, if ever, but if I do I'll have a lot of fun since I like to talk about the proportions of the figures... "Atlaga is HUGE." "Migol is ROUND." Just a preview.

On another note: Even though I'm on highspeed Internet in America, I still can't bear to navigate the voluminous pages of forums. - Can someone please link me to the tournament report where the Dividers won that I read about on the main page? - Also a link to where the rest...

No 9th in 2009

Posted May 7th, 2009 at 08:39 PM by NamibianScaper
Though it was quite cool to see this today, Wave 9 Info from House Mouse, I realized later that there will be no new (9th) Elf Wizard in Wave 9.

Which makes it all quite bittersweet.

Unless Kumiko is a dual-class elf ninja/wizard. Valguard got a new lizard arm on Valhalla. It's possible. It says she was "trained." Makes it sound rather recent.

Keep hoping,

Heroscape Battle Royale

Posted March 27th, 2009 at 10:19 AM by NamibianScaper
Borrowing a name from one of my favorite old fake wrestling events, the Heroscape Battle Royale is underway.

Apparently it's not as popular as I thought it would be, but even if you didn't enter you can still go and vote.

It's a lot of fun, not just the voting but the reactions to the votes. I'm also in it for the prizes as I still need Agent Skahen.

It's the top link every day here.
