Michigan NHSD Tournament 2011

OK so we had our Michigan NHSD event at BC Comix.


540 points Random Reverse the Whip
(Coin Flip before each round determined which Army you played)

My games:

1st Game VS Drew/Tyler: Complete destruction by Tor-Kul-Na and Su-Bak-Na. Braxas managed to kill one Nagrub, and Mogrimm managed to take down Torky…but other than that Tor-Kul-Na trampled my entire Dwarven Army and Su-Bak-Na swoops in a destroys Braxas and Mogrimm in short order.

2nd Game VS Brian (Reverse the Whip) – Brain came in quickly with the Dwarves while I tried to block of routes with Goblins, it did not work and he was able to corner Q9 in the start zone with an Axegrinder and Mogrimm. And before I knew what was happening, Q9 had three wounds. Then Q9 got mad…he kept getting attacked and survived, I Mob Attacked Mogrimm and the Dwarves that engaged Q9 and was able to use the Cuttters to limit the amount of attack on Q9, then he got hot…Mogrimm falls, Braxas move up and Q9 makes short work of her, with the Help of a Mob Attack from the remaining Goblins, and slowly Q9 took over the game…and in game I thought I had lost in the beginning two rounds, becomes a win with the juggernaut Major Q9 refusing to go down with his last wound.

3rd Game VS damja: Started out well, I move up my Dwarves and Braxas in the first round, and made a strategic gamble by moving Braxas closer to the Zombies to take one shot at Raelin with Acid Breath and rolled a 17! Down goes Raelin. damja was not happy, and I thought I may finally be able to beat my friend…but the Zombies surrounded Braxas and performed a Onslaught to perfection to take her down and I could not kill enough Zombies…so in the end I killed lots of Zombies but they kept coming back from the dead and damja won on points. (One day I will beat you in a tournament )

4th game VS Rednax (Reverse the Whip). So here I am playing Omnicron against no soulborg, and I was worried. But as the Dwarves moved forward, I kept engaging with Repulsors, the Dwarves could not kill them and the Snipers took out Dwarf after Dwarf as rolled really well with either two or three skulls each roll…Braxas came up and started taking out Repulsors as she parked herself in Shadow where it made it difficult to hit her with the Snipers. So I opened up a path to Raelin, and Rednax took the bait and moved out of shadow to try to take down Raelin; who had really helped this Army. Bingo, the trap was set and three Snipers with Height rolled all skulls each time and Braxas fell. Then I just cleaned up the last few Dwarves and won the game with 3 Snipers, 4 Repulsors and Raelin still on the Battlefield.

Interesting sidebar is that I won my two games with someone else’s Army twice, so I’m 0-11 with an Army with Braxas in it.
