High Point University

Recently I took a trip to tour High Point University. I went into it not sure what to think, I had never heard of the school, and already had my mind set on Appalachian State University.
High Point impressed me from the moment we drove up, they had the LED signs with different peoples names on them and one of them had
"tcglkn (My real name was here)
North Carolina"
Just for signing up for a tour, they put my name on a parking spot, thats a pretty big investment in potential students right there.
Every where we went on the tour was amazing, they have a state of the art communications building which is just amazing. The dorms were like apartments, they even had some dorm rooms (suite style) that had double beds.
One of the things that impressed me the most was the President of the schools dedication to giving back to the school. He went to the school and now he is a famous motivational speaker. Being a private College, he raises all the funds for the school and they recently announce a (I think this is the right number) 2.1 Billion dollar plan to expand the school over about 5 years. Not only does the President give by raising money, he also teaches a class on being successful in life that all the Freshmen take. He even spends time in the cafeteria eating meals with students.
Well at the end of the day, I got to sit down with an admissions councilor and talk about how to make my application look good to the school. They even gave me a free tshirt.
Needless to say, this is now my number one choice for college next year.
