D&D Heroscape aka Master Set 3
A new master set has been announced for Heroscape. It is fully compatible with standard heroscape but it has the D&D theme attached to it. There will be an official campaign in the set as well as some new rules and new glyphs.
This set was worked on by Jerry, Chris, and I and was playtested by all of the original playtesters. There will be some good new heroscape in this box.
The D&D theme brings something to the table that many heroscapers have tried to incorporate into the game for a long time - A dungeon crawl experience.

C'mon guys, even if the new figures suck you still get quite a bit of terrain and the new glyphs might be fun. I still think it's better than Marvel. I think these new figures would look cool with the castle expansion.

"Quite a bit of terrain?" There's less than SotM!
And that's the second time someone's said they'll go well with the castle. I don't get it, why are they better than other figures in that regard?? |

Wow some people really don't like the set. It really seems like they are going through a transition from Hasbro to WotC. From what I am understanding it sounds like they are in the prosses of making all new figures.

Oh my... I'm salvating *wipes off chin*
All those who said I'd never see Dark Elves in Heroscape, HA! The only thing I'm wondering is if this is its own branch like Marvel or is all apart of the game? The fact that they follow Valkyrie Generals seems to undo anything the box would suggest. Anyway the wind blows all this new stuff makes me feel spoiled, but I like it. |

With all the negative reaction, I have to chime in and say that Mrs. TexMex and I are excited about all this!

I'm excited too. Seriously people, if you don't like it, don't buy it. And stop complaining about it. It's not like WotC is forcing you to spend your money on it.
I find how many people are complaining about it annoying. Sure they aren't new sculpts, but at least it's more terrain, and more official figures. As long as it's not unbalanced or unfair, I'm fine with it. At least we're getting new 'Scape. ~Anthasu1 |

Here is a comparison between Master set 2 & Master set 3 for terrain.
Master Set 2: 2 - 24 Hex 16 - 7 Hex 5 - 3 Hex 5 - 2 Hex 5 - 1 Hex 8 - Water Tiles 34 - Swamp Tiles Master Set 3: 2 - 24 Hex 9 - 7 Hex 6 - 3 Hex 5 - 2 Hex 8 - 1 Hex 12 - Water Tiles 8 - Shadow Tiles The amount of terrain looks fairly close to me with some advantages for both of the sets. Another thing to consider is SoTM has one line of sight blocker with the hive while the new Master set has four. |

I'm really hoping this set is in the $20-$30 price range rather than a full MS at $40. I contains a third of the figures of RotV, and comparable but less terrain than SotM.
