D&D Heroscape aka Master Set 3
A new master set has been announced for Heroscape. It is fully compatible with standard heroscape but it has the D&D theme attached to it. There will be an official campaign in the set as well as some new rules and new glyphs.
This set was worked on by Jerry, Chris, and I and was playtested by all of the original playtesters. There will be some good new heroscape in this box.
The D&D theme brings something to the table that many heroscapers have tried to incorporate into the game for a long time - A dungeon crawl experience.

Okay then, that strikes me a little odd. Maybe I'll understand more once we get a little more info on it.

i think that they're going a little overboard with all these different sets. that's probably because i never played D&D.

Cool. What figures are included? Can you post a hi-res photo of the back of the box? Or a photo of the content list?

If you click on the images you can get a bigger image. Also if you go the the Gatherings section of the gallery there are a lot more pictures.

Wow!
I'm not sure how I feel about this (is this jumping the shark or a great idea) but shows there is a plan for the future. |

I really don't like that D&D figures were summoned by generals of Valhalla. I will not be using these figures.
Still, I'm hoping for the continuation of Classic Scape, and that we will eventually receive a real Master Set 3, that includes only Classic Figures. For 2010, I'm hoping we'll get at least two more waves and maybe a large figure and terrain expansion. And yes a Marvel Wave 1. If D&D Heroscape hadn't had generals, I would like future expansions too. But that is not the case. I really do not like this, but I'll have to live with it. Thanks for the news Truth. |

It looks like this has been done really well. I'm excited to pick this up and see it for myself. Thanks to all those who've worked to make this true Heroscape, with a DnD flair.

I don't mind this set, but I really hope they don't add more DnD. I'm happy for wave 10 also, and I'm thinking they are in a transition phase between hasbro and WotC.

Truth
When you say new rules, are there going to be any changes to Heroscape rules? Any drastic or small changes that will affect gameplay as it is right now? Btw I am looking forward to seeing this new master set, I think its cool. Im glad they put it in the Heroscape world, and not in the DND world. |
