I think most of it is social. I'm guessing your parents didn't regularly have sports on when you were a kid, and the friends you made in middle or high school don't talk about them much.

My parents kinda watch sports, but mostly don't care about it either. My school friends, however, talk about football quite a lot.

My guess is that a lot of it is the 'thrill of the fight' as it were, watching these teams battle it out to try and claim victory. I get why so many people love watching sports, I just don't love watching them myself, and would rather read a book or take a walk.
 
How the heck did baseball not make it into the poll? I know, it's 'America's Pastime' and all, but it is soooo slow. I can't remember the last time (excepting a World Series game) I was 'glued to the TV' for the entirety of a game.
 
I voted basket ball. Mostly because I do not like it. Baseball is boring to watch on tv but awesome to watch in person.
 
Golf... this one is a no brainer. Even in the other boring sports you can at least watch hoping they will screw up and wipe out or lose it all. Golf is just so anti climactic. Even a hole in one give you about the excitement of finding the moon in the sky when you look up for it.
 
My first thought would be all of them...I am just not a sport's guy (though I will occasionally watch Husker football if I have a lot of friends who are watching it). In picking a most boring one, Golf definitely has to be it (especially since Phineas and Ferb makes of fun of its boringness). Rugby is probably the only sport I could stand to watch one my own.
 
I hate watching golf! one of my friends has it on all the time and its awful. FOUR. Now i dont like football either. Im with Uprising, i would rather watch a baseball game.
 
I dont know most of you probably think im crazy not liking football, but i hope everyone can agree, golf is the most boring!! Its just that football takes too long to get going and i dont even want to comment on the halftime show.:evil:
