What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

In the last three days:

One of the Thunderstone games
Blood Rage
Fire and Axe
Space Base x3
Charioteers
7 Wonders Duel
Formula One
Star Trek Ascendancy
Above and Below

and possibly some others I'm forgetting.
What'd you think of above and below?

It's one of my favorite games.

Have you played Near and Far? I like Above and Below alright, although I feel like the story elements are much more fun than the worker placement elements, which are just a bit too basic for my liking. Near and Far imo takes everything that worked in Above and Below and did it even better.

I have Near and Far. It's a close second for me. I like traveling on the map and doing quests.

Quartermaster General 6 player, History of the World 4 player and Fleet: The Dice Game 3 player.

Fire and Axe three player. Me 162, Bob 198 and Liz 199. Close game, at least for the two of them.

Taeblewalker,

;) I'm so glad you get to play such a wide variety of games, even though I'm not on board with all of them myself. Of course, that's true in reverse too.

One of my top 5 all time, Neuroshima Hex!

My Troglodytes just edged out my son's Mississippi.

Near and Far, coop with the Amber Mines expansion. We killed all the bosses but didn't get enough points to win. Fun game though!

Played War of the Ring with my son a few nights ago. I love that game! 3 hours in when we finished it was still anybody's game. So well balanced.

Return to Dark Tower (we won against Isa the Exile), 7 Wonders Duel that ended in a military victory, Dungeon Scroll, Expeditions, Bravo! and Welcome the the Moon (third game in the campaign).

September gaming:

LotR: LCG x 20
Heroscape x 13
Pathfinder: ACG x 6
Dragon Dice x 3
Last Bastion x 3
Aventuria: ACG x 2
Lasting Tales x 2
Tiny Epic Defenders x 2
10 Days in the USA
Altar Quest
Bang! the dice game
BSG
Cloudspire
Claustrophobia
David and Goliath
Drako
Forbidden Island
Hero Realms
Marvel United
One Deck Dungeon
Space Hulk: Death Angel
Spot it
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
Tiny Epic Dungeons
The Walking Dead: Board Game

Right there with ya Matthias. Recently, my two friends and I begun a "progression series" for Lord of the Rings LCG. We are playing through everything that we own (which is a good chunk of it all) in the order it was originally released. It's been super fun to build decks using limited card pools and slowly unlock new options. We are on our 19th scenario already after just four sessions. Can't wait for more.

Champions of Midgard, Space Base, Wonderland's War, Heat: Pedal to the Metal and I believe one or two others I don't remember.

Edit: Gladiators

Heat: Pedal to the Metal
This is the first racing game I’ve played, so far we’ve only played it in the base state. Next time we’ll start exploring the upgrade and weather modules. The core mechanics are fairly simple and intuitive.

Lost Ruins of Arnak
A combo worker placement/deck builder centered around exploring burial sites and temples.

Detective: City of Angels
Set in 1940s LA, one person plays as a criminal trying to foil the detectives who are all working the same case, but racing to solve it for themselves.

Nice- I've heard really good things about all three of these.

Pirate Fluxx 2-player and Freelancers 3-player. Amazingly good time!!!

Two-part, six army Heroscape scenario, using maps I created myself. The Elves and Dwarves, plus a handful of miscellaneous heroes triumphed over orcs, goblins, skeletons, zombies and more!

Afterward, we played a 4-player game of The Last Kingdom. I liked it more than I thought I would.

Yes, the recently Kickstarted The Last Kingdom (Gamelyn Games) is a somewhat unknown gem, but everyone who tries it wants to play again! I've now introduced it to 11 other players. I've played 9 solitaires and 6 games with live opponents, including all of our Heroscape gang, since 7/25/23. It should be in retail soon if it isn't already.

These 15 games allowed me to try out all ten Leaders, their Hero alternate versions, and the 6 Hero only characters, in varying combinations, with different number of Danes and Saxons--the two sides--with the entire player count possibilities of 2-5 Players. I've identified 15 factors that make each game different. I call it the most asymmetric game ever, as there are only about 3 cards duplicated (which usually come out in different game rounds), and no Leaders/Hero powers are duplicated--all are unique. The two default constants--Leader movement costs and battle strengths--are sometimes varied also.

I highly recommend it.

We played a couple games of Citadel last night (5 players). Two of us tied with 26 points in game 1, with a 3rd player at 25. Then I won game 2 with 24 points.

Freelancers today with four players. We defeated the dragon at the end of campaign A. Then we played Dragonquest, which everyone but me hated.
