Year 8 of Utah Monthly Events!!​

Location: Game Haven Sandy (9860 S. 700 E. Sandy, UT 84070)

When: February 24th, 1:00 - 5:00 PM (Please arrive 10 minutes early to register)

Cost: FREE

Format: Teams Six Turn Rounds
This month we will be trying a variation of the teams format. Instead of bringing individual armies and merging them, you will bring one 650-point team so all synergies will work for the entire team. Each player will bring all order markers and place them on the cards for a total of 3 turns per player per round, for a total of 6 turns per team per round.

• 650 points (Delta pricing)
• 18 figure limit (Rule of 9)
• C3V & SoV allowed, Official Marvel NOT allowed this month
• Power Glyphs: Unique Attack +1, Move +2, Initiative +8, D20 +2, Wound
• Treasure Glyphs: Move +4, Attack +2, Defense +3, Disengage
• Four 50-minute rounds

Raffle: Friendly Faces
If you bring someone who has never been to a Utah monthly or has not been in the last 6 months you will be entered into the raffle!

Scoring
If a game goes to time, the winner will be determined by scoring (unless otherwise stated by the month's format). Scoring will be done by partial card scoring, meaning that each squad figure killed and each wound on a hero will count as points killed. Scores are calculated for figures remaining on the battlefield, and figures that have not entered the battlefield (such as Airborne Elite that have not dropped) do not count for points.

To aid with scoring, players can use the partial card scoring calculator here.

Format: Delta 500 - Rule of 12
Bring an army worth 500 points using Delta pricing. Rule of 12 means that any common squad is limited to 12 figures for that squad.

• 500 Point Armies
• 20 Figure Limit
• No more than 12 of any common squad figure
  (so 3 sets of Knights of Weston, or 4 sets of Marro Drones, for a total of 12 figures)
• C3V & SoV allowed, Official Marvel allowed this month
• Power Glyphs: Unique Attack +1, Move +2, Initiative +8, D20 +2, Wound
• Treasure Glyphs: Move +4, Attack +2, Defense +3, Disengage
• Four 50-minute rounds

Raffle: High Variance
If your army has at least 100 points difference between its normal and delta pricing (you can check quickly in the army builder), you will be entered into a raffle for a sweet prize!

When: APRIL 27TH, 1:00 - 5:00 PM (Please arrive 10 minutes early to register)


Cost: FREE

Format: Reverse-the-Whip
Every other round you will be playing your opponent's army. Specifically, Round 1 you will play your opponent's army, Round 2 you will play your own army, Round 3 you play your opponent's army, and Round 4 you play your own to finish it off.

Hint time: Reverse-the-Whip is a staple competitive format, but if you're new to it, just be sure to realize that you both have to win with and win against what you bring. So bring something you know how to play, but not something that is too difficult to beat.

• 450 Point Armies
• 18 Figure Limit
• C3V & SoV allowed, Official Marvel NOT allowed, AoA not allowed (until official release)
• Power Glyphs: Unique Attack +1, Move +2, Initiative +8, D20 +1, Wound, Lucky D20 +2
• Treasure Glyphs: Move +4, Attack +2, Defense +3, Disengage
• Four 50 minute rounds

Raffle: If your army wins more times than it looses, including when played against yourself, You are entered into a raffle.

Cost: $5 entry fee - this will go towards all our prizes that we’ll have!

Format: General Wars

Time to represent your favorite Valkyrie General! All units in your army must follow the same Valkyrie. HOWEVER, units that follow Valkrill may be used as “free agents” in any army (ex. If you have an army with Death Chasers of Thesk, Me-Burq-Sa and Nerak the Glacian Swog Rider you may enter this army under Utgar's flag).

• 525-point armies (Standard Points)
• 20 figure limit
• CLASSIC FIGURES ONLY, AoA figures not allowed until official release, C3V/SoV NOT Allowed, Marvel Not allowed
• RotV Raelin BANNED!
• Power Glyphs: Unique Attack +1, Move +2, Initiative +8, D20 +2, Wound, Sola Gerda & Sola Astrid (+1 defense/attack respectively once per order marker)
• Treasure Glyphs: Move +4, Attack +2, Defense +3, Disengage
Four 50-minute rounds

Bonus Prize: Top General
The top placing player representing each Valkyrie General will win a special prize!

Location: Demolition Games (85 W 3300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84115)

When: August 31st, 1:00 - 5:00 PM (Please arrive 10 minutes early to register)

Cost: $5 entry fee - this will go towards all our prizes that we’ll have!

Format: Random Teams, Bring Two

This month we’ll be testing out our teamwork! Each game you’ll be paired with a random teammate. You will bring two armies that fit the build restrictions. At the beginning of the game, you and your teammate will secretly decide which one of YOUR OWN armies you will use. You cannot use one of your teammates armies. Both teams will reveal their choices at the same time.

• Two separate 300-point armies (Standard Points)
• 10 figure limit per army
• B+ power ranking and lower
• Classic, VC, AND AoA figures allowed!
• Power Glyphs: Unique Attack +1, Move +2, Initiative +8, D20 +2, Wound, +1 Defence (once per order marker), +1 Attack (once per order marker)
• Treasure Glyphs: Move +4, Attack +2, Defense +3, Disengage
• Four 50-minute rounds

Raffle: Last Man Standing
If your teammate is eliminated, but you still win in at least one of your games you will be entered to the month’s raffle.

When: September 28th, 12:00 - 4:30 PM (Please arrive 10 minutes early to register)

Cost: Optional $5 (We will give you a voucher that can be exchanged for a prize at the end of the tournament. First place and the raffle winner will get a prize regardless.)

Format: Delta 560
Bring an army worth 560 points using Delta pricing.
