The C3G Cave - Hangout

It's a great place for it! How's life treating you, Hellfire?

Whew -- transitionary. Made some significant life trajectory changes; of our own volition in pursuit of something different and to be closer to family. Moved from one end of the country to the other and it feels like we live in another country now lol. Been trying to get our feet underneath us and to enjoy the journey.

How's the C3G crew doing? Any of you been up to anything exciting?

Still down in Bama here, trucking along. Pretty happy with the state of C3G in its 2.0 version. Gotta get you to Con one of these years! We're going to do Con 6 this July. :)

Well we launched a whole 2.0 version of C3G. But other than that…not much has changed. 🤪

Great to hear from you

I remember, some discussions about this. Where do the cons get hosted?

I also remember you were all working on a 2nd edition rulebook -- been looking through some of the cards; what's the general preference for printing cards? The new concepts look pretty cool. That said, I need to do a proper perusal of the rules.

You should jump on the C3G Discord!

We’ve held the Con in July in Nashville the past several years.

Sign me up for more self-imploding gameplay!

Doesn't look like any of my designs made the cut lol.

Oh we're still pulling stuff over all the time! There's hope for 'em yet. I haven't gotten around to a bunch of mine still because I'm slow as all get-out. Would love to get Bailey Hoskins in the game again.

Sounds good!

Do these new cards work in baseball card size (2.5x3.5)? Or does the text/symbols get too small?

They're designed for playing card size! Text is actually a bit bigger than on the old style cards.

We're waiting for you to come and blow up our spot (i.e. convert them). :p

If you have Tabletop Simulator, great way to play some 2.0 with the gang, btw!

Yes, Poker sized. And ironically the text is bigger as there is more space. But also the new wording clean up means less text on a lot of cards which means…we can increase the font even more.

Wow! @L0B5T3R and @Hellfire making returns! Hope y'all are doing well! C3G kinda had what I consider its Silver Age with 2.0, Golden Age was definitely when 1.0 was at its peak, which was actually a couple different points, but 2.0 really revitalized a couple people and the project a bit. Plus, the opportunity to tweak some old designs and really look at their place in the meta (basically knowing there was a "meta") made for some deeper design aesthetics. In 1.0 our first Superman was designed to be a standalone Hero. In 2.0 he was created looking at Justice League and some of his common allies. Just knowing that they would be covered eventually was enough to create more complicated designs. It's really fun, but I would suggest getting a walk through the rulebook from a willing Legend or Hero, it is not much to learn when really simplified to what makes things different and/or easier. Welcome back!
