- Give a brief overview. It was almost close, but not close enough for the Frost Giants to feel right at 230.
Map: Custom with snow/ice but no heavy snow or slippery ice
Units: Frost Giant x2 (460), Iceman (150), Red Skull (Hasbro - 190) (800) vs. Hulk (Hasbro 370), Thor (430) (800)

Spoiler Alert!

Red Skull had about 4 shots with his Dust of Death to finish Thor at the end, but couldn’t do it. The Frost Giants missed all three of their rolls for Freezing Touch, limiting their risks of the rolls due to the difficulty of success and the fact that attacks from height seemed to make more sense. So Freezing Touch never came into play here except as a waste of time for the Giants. They did put 6 wounds on Hulk, but it wasn’t enough and Thor easily cleaned up after Hulk took out Iceman (who put the other two wounds on Hulk) and the first Frost Giant. Thor’s hammer put 2 wounds on the second Frost Giant fast, the Frost Giant failed a Freezing Touch roll, then Thor finished him off in melee before taking on Red Skull (and taking 4 wounds in the process). So far I’d say the Frost Giants underperformed for 230, but poor D20 rolls was part of that. We’ll see what test two brings!
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Thor wins Turn 2, Round 5 with 4 life left.

- What should be the unit's point value? 230 felt good here
- Give a brief overview. They took a lot more shots with Freezing Touch here – it helped that mid-level heroes don’t have attacks big enough to wipe them out quickly, so they felt a bit more secure rolling for it. Also, when Professor X still has his X-Marker, it’s easier to roll than attack sometimes.
Map: Custom with heavy snow/slippery ice
Units: Frost Giant x3 (690), Magneto (310) (1,000) vs. Professor X, Beast, Angel, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Iceman (1,000)

Spoiler Alert!

I rolled like crazy in this one and even healed a few times with Frost Giants and Iceman. Nothing screws up an X-Men army like freezing a Professor X with all the Order Markers for the round in a block of ice! It also takes Psychic Defense X out of play, making it easier to kill the Mutants who remain. Magneto went in first and did some damage, namely a wound on Prof X, a wound on Iceman, 3 wounds on Cyclops, and killing Beast (who was killing him with Negotiations). Then the Frost Giants came in and over the course of a few rounds froze Prof X to death with three end of round skulls. They also took out Angel, put 2 wounds on Iceman (he healed 2 wounds over the course of the game), finished Cyclops, and put three wounds on Jean Grey for a really close, hard fought match.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Jean Grey with 1 life and Iceman with 1 wound frozen in an Ice Rock win on Turn 2, Round 15.

Yep. If I only had my tests, I'd suggest a 10 point drop in cost, but I think with the combination of your tests and mine, I'd have to see a few more bad performances to recommend a drop in cost. So far so good and one to go.

No. The DnD Frost Giants are single based, and that makes them even cooler

All Tests Run On: Custom City map with my Lexan Mat, a couple of warehouse ruins and some snow. (Normal Snow)

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Pass
- What should be the unit's point value? 220?
- Give a brief summary. Thor really ruled the match here, rolling good on attack and defence (about 4-5 skulls per attack and 4-5 shields per defensive roll). The Frost Giants fought hard and were able to freeze a couple of figures, but it wasn't enough.
Units: Frost Giant x 4 and Chronos (995) VS C3G Captian America, Thor, Bucky, Iron Man MK I, Giant-Man and 2 Fire Ant Swarms (1000)

Spoiler Alert!

The Frost Giants just couldn't catch a break this battle. They tried to stay on the snow, but Thor still dominated. The Frost Giants did manage to freeze Captain America at the start of the second round, but Thor broke him out on the next OM. Captain America and Bucky died early in the third round. Thor was giving the Frost Giants about 2 wounds per attack. He also blocked every one of their attacks, and when they froze him, Giant-Man broke him out on his next turn (I thought the Ice rocks would be harder to break than this but they only rolled 2 shields each time.) Once the Frost Giants were taken down, Thor had no trouble taking out Chronos.
Thor w/ 4 wounds, 2 Fire Ants, and Giant-Man and Iron Man and with no damage all survived.

- Give a brief summary. These guys just got smashed by the Dazzler and Strong Guy combo.
Units: Frost Giant x3 and Omega Red (990) VS Professor X, Toad, Destiny, Dazzler, Angel, Strong Guy, and Quicksilver (990)

Spoiler Alert!

Omega Red led out here (so he wouldn't get killed by his Death Factor before he got into the action) and he managed to kill Toad, wound Dazzler once and wound Strong Guy once. Then Dazzler and Strong Guy hit it off and totally dominated Omega Red. After this they took out one of the Frost Giants while 2 OMs were wasted on Omega Red (who only had 1 wound at the start of the round). After killing another Frost Giant, Strong Guy got Frozen and I had to bring up Quicksilver to help Dazzler finish off the last Frost Giant.
Strong Guy in an Ice Rock with 2 wounds. Dazzler with 1 wound. Angel, Professor X, Quicksilver, and Destiny with no wounds.

Yeah, they really struggle against Thor unless they're nailing their rolls. These were the kind of test results I was talking about when I was talking about what would convince me they needed a drop in cost. Do we all feel that 220 is agreeable?

I like them at 220, they definitely have potential against lower-middle level heroes but struggle against heavy hitters. I would certainly draft these guys at 220.

220 is fine, but Tickle didn't have any ranged support for these guys. Throw in Green Arrow, Punisher or some ranged squaddies like Cops on their team and they will stand a better chance.
