The C3G Book of Frost Giant

Yeah, I'd be cool with that. Have Frost Giants ever shown weakness to fire specifically in the comics? I don't know that it's all that necessary.

Consider it cut. :) I really think the other line needs to stay, though, just for gameplay purposes.

Depending on the figure used, you could do the Giant Reach power off of Giant Man's card in place of Fire Weakness.

 We're talking about reducing complexity here, remember? I'm happy with the two powers. One is fairly complex and he's an uncommon hero to boot.
SP updated, by the way.

Seems fitting to me and not terribly complex. Not a gotta have though. :)

GIGANTIC REACH
If an opponent's figure is within 2 spaces of _, and its base is no more than 6 levels above _ or 6 levels below _'s base, _ may add 1 to his range when attacking that figure.

I appreciate the attempt, but I'm sticking with two powers here.

Looking good here. I like the chance to be broken out.

I wonder if figures with Ice Resistance shouldn't be immune to the Freezing Touch though.

Nah, being frozen in a block of ice is being frozen in a block of ice, IMO.

FREEZING TOUCH 14
Start the game with one Ice Rock Destructible Object on this card. After moving Instead of attacking, if the Ice Rock is on this card, you may choose one adjacent small or medium figure and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 14 or higher, place the chosen figure on this card and place the Ice Rock on the space previously occupied by the chosen figure switch the chosen figure with the Ice Rock on this card. At the end of each round, if the chosen figure is on this card and has not been destroyed, roll a single attack die. If a skull is rolled, the chosen figure receives one wound. If a blank is rolled and the chosen figure has Super Strength, destroy the Ice Rock. If the Ice Rock from this card is destroyed, place the chosen figure on the space previously occupied by the Ice Rock, and place the Ice Rock back on this card switch the Ice Rock with the chosen figure on this card.

  1. This wording convention to just say Instead of moving or attacking has been used officially. It is still clear, if not more clear because then people don't have to be told that a move of 0 is still a move when they ask if they can use the power without moving. It also cuts down text.
  2. Losing the "a" is SirG's convention.
  3. The term "switch" is not only clear in its interpretation, but has been used officially and by us. It also cuts down text.
  4. See point number 3.

One more edit:

FREEZING TOUCH 14
Start the game with one Ice Rock Destructible Object on this card. Instead of attacking, if the Ice Rock is on this card, you may choose one adjacent small or medium figure that is not an Event Hero and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 14 or higher, switch the chosen figure with the Ice Rock on this card. At the end of each round, if the chosen figure is on this card and has not been destroyed, roll a single attack die. If a skull is rolled, the chosen figure receives one wound. If a blank is rolled and the chosen figure has Super Strength, destroy the Ice Rock. If the Ice Rock from this card is destroyed, switch the Ice Rock with the chosen figure on this card.

Fair point, Griff. :) Don't want to freeze Beyonder. Seems kinda unfair.
GP, if it's a small or medium DO and you want to waste this on it, why not?

I just thought it would be odd. I don't think it's a necessary edit.
I think the only way it would be odd would be if a Frost Giant freezes another Ice Rock. In fact, we should probably guard against that to prevent
  1. A frost giant switches a figure with his Ice Rock.
  2. A front giant switches that Ice Rock with another Ice Rock.
  3. Another frost giant switches the newest Ice Rock with his own.
  4. Repeat
  5. etc.
See the confusion?

An easy fix:

FREEZING TOUCH 14
Start the game with one Ice Rock Destructible Object on this card. Instead of attacking, if the Ice Rock is on this card, you may choose one adjacent small or medium enemy figure that is not an Event Hero and roll the 20-sided die.

Yeah, that's concise enough to be worth doing for sure. :) Good call. Updating now.

Very nice. Yeah, I'm thinking that as a proxy with the Clix Frost Giant as the main card would be perfect. What do you guys think of that?

Actually, strike that, let's just use these guys as the only card. They look perfect, and then we can save the Clix one for a unique Frost Giant later, like their king or something.

The Clix one would be tricky to rebase so I definitely prefer this using the Scape one. (Plus I have a couple.)

For sure. And it's hella expensive, so I prefer to reserve it for a unique hero.

MARVEL Frost Giants don't have beards though do they? And this guy is rocking a giant beard.

This one does (one of Bats suggest comic art images):

That ONE does, but it isn't anywhere near being typical. Also, the DnD figure has a HUGE FREAKING BEARD. It is like half of the figure.
