-Rulings and Clarifications-
  • Q: If the last figure I control is switched on the battlefield for an Ice Rock, do I automatically lose?
  • A: No, your figure is still considered on the battlefield for the sake of victory conditions as long as it is undestroyed on the Frost Giant's card.
  • If a player's only figure is one on Frost Giant's card but the Ice Rock has been removed from the game (without being destroyed), does this result in a stalemate?
  • No. The Frost Giant's Frost Bite special power still continues & and will eventually kill the figure on the Frost Giant's card and therefore the opposing player will eventually win.
  • Base Clarification: Frost Giant is a single-spaced figure.

FREEZING TOUCH 14
Start the game with one Ice Rock Destructible Object on this card. Instead of attacking, if the Ice Rock is on this card, you may choose one adjacent small or medium enemy figure that is not an Etin. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 14 or higher, switch the chosen figure with the Ice Rock on this card if the Ice Rock fits normally onto that space. The chosen figure will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

FROST BITE
At the end of each round, if a figure that was chosen for Freezing Touch 14 is on this card and has not been destroyed, roll a single attack die. If a skull is rolled, the chosen figure receives one wound. If a blank is rolled and the chosen figure has Super Strength, destroy the Ice Rock. Whenever the Ice Rock from this card is destroyed, place it on this card and switch it with the chosen figure on this card if possible. Players cannot lose the game if one or more of their figures is still affected by Freezing Touch.

ICE RESISTANCE
Slippery Ice and Heavy Snow only count as 1 space when moving. Add 1 die to this Frost Giant’s defense while on an ice or snow space.

SUPER STRENGTH

As the official one, probably that Frost Giant that came out with the new Sentinels. I think Griff had an idea for a proxy that we could have a card for as well, ala Sentinels.

What about the "Thor" Movie Frost Giant. It will be cheaper and the pose is better. The Heroclix one is kneeling.

EDIT: BTW, love the write-up! Nothing to add!

Gotcha. And any idea on the cost/availability and if he fits on a double base? He passes the eyeball test for sure. :)

How do you keep track of which Ice Rock goes with which card?

This is what I am personally using. It is a DnD Feral Troll from the DnD master set, and I just painted their skin blue:

I think this is an excellent figure to either use for the card or as a proxy:

I thought of that a while back when I actually suggested this power to Bats, and my thought was that we suggest people keep track the same way they keep track of Uncommon Heroes: with stickers, markers, paint, or whatever they come up with.

It runs about the same as the Ironmen $8 or so, and is pretty much the same height, maybe a level taller. It will fit on a double base as well.

Griff's suggestions are both good (and cheaper!) but are WAY shorter than the Heroclix or the action figure.

I think the ones the same size as the iron man figures are too large. Personally I don't think they should be larger then the Giant Man heroclix.

I agree. And I personally don't even care how big someone might say they are "supposed" to be, because not only are they many different sizes, not only have they been inconsistently drawn for years, but I just don't like the way it looks to have such HUGE figures on the board be up against Thor and company. I prefer the DnD troll size personally.

That is a very compelling argument. Giant-Man being shorter than Giants would seem weird. Perhaps the action figure could be used for Ymir.

Works for me ... but since it's technically a repaint and all, are there any available figures out there that wouldn't require repainting?

I think that DnD Charral figure (or whatever it is called) that I posted one page back is perfect and cheap.

Ah, so that's what the broken link was? :p I meant to tell you that wasn't working for me ...

The link works just fine for me, but here, you can look it up for yourself. Chraal #37

FIRE WEAKNESS
If Frost Giant is on a molten lava or lava field space, he rolls 2 fewer defense dice and 2 fewer attack dice.

Gotta have both.
